Thank you for your question and photo. Your epicanthal fold is slight and the risk of adverse scarring, following a epicanthoplasty, great, and there is no going back once this has happened. Please think very, very carefully, before proceeding with surgery.
Skin removal from this area of the eye very often results in scars that are worse than the extra skin. Given that your issue isn't severe, I would definitely recommend that you stay away from surgery and leave things will enough alone. Your eyes are gorgeous as is. Thank you for sharing your question and posting your photograph. It is very difficult to operate on the extra fold of skin which you have and difficult to obtain a good result. You are more likely to end up unhappy if you have this procedure performed. Your particular case is not bad and should be left alone. I hope this is helpful.Good luck,
Hi. I believe your concern is about the small fold of skin in the corner of your eyelid. This is called an epicanthal fold and would require a procedure called an epicanthoplasty. This involve releasing and rearranging the skin in this area. The results are usually mixed due to the potential for scarring. Typically, I only perform epicanthoplasty for severe epicanthal folds or if there is a problem from birth (congenital malformation). Hope this helps. Best regards, Ira Vidor, M.D.
I would agree with Dr. Gordon's recommendations. Surgery in this area is prone to form a hypertrophic scar which may be impossible to correct. Leave perfect alone.
Hello FutureDRdoll1993,I would like to reiterate what the other physicians said below. The fold you are talking about that is extra skin is normal and natural (called the epicanthal fold). The technique mentioned below called the Z plasty is the treatment option for it, but this can create a very abnormal appearing eye in that area. It can also lead to a web where the scar looks very unnatural. If you do want to have it addressed I recommend you consult with an oculoplastic surgeon. I hope this helps and good luck.
the excess skin you have circled is your epicanthal fold. I do not recommend that you excise this. To properly excise this, you need to have a z-plasty done. In my opinion (THIS IS AN OPINION), it doesn't look that great nor does it look very natural.
Thank you for your question. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty cost can range from over $2500 up to 4000 or even $5000 depending on whether or not it's done under local or in a facility with facility and anesthesia fees. if there is functional impairment and medical necessity for portions of the ...

Thank you for posting your good question. It is usually safe to shower 2-3 days after surgery. Caution must be exercised in avoiding pulling on the eyelids. Hope this helps.
