What is the best dosage of Rogaine? Once or twice daily?

Is twice daily application of Rogaine 5% (6 sprays twice daily)more effective in reducing hair loss than the once daily application of 12 sprays? And which way is easier for gradual withdrawal? I mean withdrawing Rogaine with minimal withdrawal induced hair loss.

The half-life of Rogaine absorbed through the scalp is approximately 20 to 22 hours. Therefore, there isn't a significant difference between using it once or twice a day as long as you're using the 5%. I would recommend purchasing a microneedle roller with pins .25 to.3 mm and rolling the scalp prior to application of the Rogaine. It stimulates hair growth and increases absorption.

Rogaine's recommended dosing schedule is generally twice daily. I do think it is effective even when used only once daily, and this is important, because many people have trouble using Rogaine twice daily. I recommend that patients stay on Rogaine as long as possible because I do not believe it provides long-term results when used only for short periods of time.Rogaine should be part of a multi-modality treatment plan for hair loss that also includes PRP, nutritional supplementation, laser/light therapy, etc.Be sure to see a hair restoration specialist to review all of the options in detail.All the best,

Minoxidil 5%.If you can tolerate using Minoxidil 2x a day then you definitely should. In the morning and in the evening. As far as stopping the use of minoxidil this may result in your body naturally catching up to your normal progression of hair loss so I  recommend for you to keep using it.

Use of Rogaine is suggested from 1-2 times a day. It is fine if you’re applying it once a day but even if you apply 2 nd time it won’t lose any effect and might result in an improvement. That also vary from you skin type. So using Rogaine twice a day is considered to be more effective the once a day.

No studies show whether once or twice daily is more effective but if you can be compliant would try twice daily.  As far as stopping rogaine there is no "withdrawal" but hair loss that was taking place before utilizing Rogaine will continue once you stop Rogaine as there is no lasting effect from Rogaine.

The difference of using Rogaine once or twice daily is not so big. It can be more effective up to 8% if used twice a day. I would advise using it in small dosages once a day in the evening, in order to have the possibility to increase the dosage later.

I recommend twice a day, we did one Rogaine study several years ago and the Rogaine studies suggest twice a day too. Also I recommend to my patients DO NOT USE THE SPRAY presentation because the medication stays in the hair vs the scalp. So, I recommend the solution or foam presentation. Good luck.

I usually recommend a once a day dosage of Rogaine 5 or 12.5%. The half life of this medication is 22 or 23 hours, and using it twice a day is a difficult routine to keep up, so compliance using once a day is much higher. If you are  male use the 5% strength twice daily.  If you are female then the dose is either 5% once daily or 2% twice daily.

Twice daily is better than once daily.  You don't want to stop using it- you only get the positive benefits from Rogaine while you are using it.  If you stop (abruptly or gradually) your hair reverts to what it would have been like has you never used Rogaine.
