Are at-home 3MHZ ultherapy machines that penetrate to 4.5 cm effective?

I am considering purchasing the above mentions unit from the orient. it penetrate 4.5 cm, is 3 MHZ in power .I realize not as strong as the REAL thing! but would it BE effective with 3 treatments? Thanks much

When purchasing non FDA cleared devices, especially from an overseas source, one does not know exactly what they're getting. Is it safe? Has it been calibrated and double checked before release? Is it a sham treatment without any true energy being delivered? Is the energy delivered not being delivered evenly?As a NYC physician I would not be able to condone such use as I'm not aware of the scientific testing of such a foreign device. It's your face and not worth a gamble.

The internet is awash with promises of medical results at home. If that were true, we physicians would have been out of work long ago.The reason we have the FDA is so that people treated with machines or drugs are treated safely. This is paramount and one of the reasons we will often wait for a number of years to see a technology approved.You CAN hurt yourself with bogus machines and products made overseas. Is a facial burn and permanent scarring worth the risk? Who would you go to if you did severely damage your skin  - or destroy nerves or vessels that you can't see?It may be something that you simply waste your money on - and that's a best case scenario. Anything that provides a real benefit  even remotely similar to Ultherapy is not going to be affordable for home use. Don't be tricked by an internet promise and please don't risk your appearance by attempting what is a trained medical procedure on yourself.

Even though it may sound and read  like a great deal, I do not think it is in your best interest or safe to purchase a machine and perform treatments on yourself.  The best and safest option is to have the procedure performed by a board certified facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist who has the authentic Ultherapy machine.The technology behind Ultherapy is very sophisticated.  The machine delivers a precise amount of ultrasonic energy to precise tissue depths, that causes a very specific temperature level at that depth. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound, which produces intense but tiny bursts of heat at specific depths under the skin. If not used properly, focused ultrasound could cause potentially serious problems which is why it is a prescriptive medical device. Ultrasound devices available to the public do not use focusing, which makes them safer but much less effective if at all. It is not simply a matter of depth, frequency, and energy level, it is fundamentally different.

The ultrasound technology between what you have and what Ultherapy does is different.Your machine delivers linear, unfocused ultrasound waves and generates heat because of tissue absorption and the attenutation of energy in tissue.Ultherapy is focused ultrasound energy, through a proprietary technique (although well known to ultrasound manufacturers) that is called HIFU (high frequency ultrasound). It uses ultrasound beams to deliver focused energy without causing peripheral tissue damage .. There is a BIG difference in the two devices. You can buy the device you have for $29 on ebay.
