Implant exchange - Would a narrower implant reduce lateral stress on the repaired capsule compared to the wider Xtra options?
Hello, My surgeon has ordered both 535 cc Xtra (12.8 cm width) and 595 cc Xtra (13.1 cm width) implants for me. These are High Profile Xtra implants. However, I am wondering whether a Motiva option such as the Round Corsé 550 cc (12.25 cm width) or 590 cc (12.5 cm width) would be safer in my case, considering my history. My current implants are 11.7 cm wide, and I have experienced lateral displacement over time. I will also be having a lateral capsulorrhaphy to correct this. My main concern is long-term stability and avoiding any recurrence of lateral shifting, as well as achieving a more centered and defined cleavage. Would a narrower implant reduce lateral stress on the repaired capsule compared to the wider Xtra options? Thank you in advance for your advice.
