Dental work after cheek fillers: I just had my cheek fillers with Voluma yesterday.

Thank you for your question. The generally accepted protocol is to wait 2 weeks between in filler in your face and dental work. This allows the area to heal and protect from infection. Dental work can release bacteria into your mouth and any open areas. Also allows the product to be stabilized and there fore be unaffected by the dental work. I hope that helps

If you had Voluma injected, or any of the Vycross fillers from Allergan, I would suggest waiting at least 3 months before receiving dental work. Nodules after Voluma, Volbella and Vollure have been reported. These reactions have been reported months after injection and sometimes have been associated with recent dental work. For this reason, I would recommend to my patients that they wait a few months before getting any dental work done if they received any of these fillers. While this may seem very conservative, I have seen enough side effects with these particular fillers to recommend a good deal of caution when getting dental work done post-injection. I recommend waiting two weeks after injecting your cheeks with either Voluma or Radiesse. It takes time for the fillers to settle and for swelling and bruising to go away.
