Hello, thank you for your question and providing pictures!Don´t worry, everybody heals at his own rate, it depends also on the procedure and amount of liposuction, 2 months is still early, the swelling, tight feeling and tenderness can last for 6 months, of course each time you will be feeling better, be patient and be sure to follow all you postoperative care instructions. Keep communication with your plastic surgeon.Wish you the best
Thanks for the inquiry and I appreciate your concern. It is not at all unusual to still feel the effects of a liposuction procedure for a few months after treatment. While the procedure is not overly invasive, it does leave behind some trauma to the treatment area, which will need time to heal completely. I encourage you to schedule a follow-up with the surgeon that performed the procedure for a full, in-person assessment to ensure you are not experiencing any unusual symptoms. However, the best remedy for these symptoms is the time needed to heal completely. Good luck to you!
Thank you for your question.Everyone heals at a different rate and healing from liposuction can take a while. The swelling always gets worse before it gets better, it can take 6 months sometimes longer for all the swelling to subside.
Thank you for the question. After liposuction it can be expected to feel tightness and have some residual swelling that can last up to 6 months. At times there are areas that can feel harder and slightly tender; massaging the area can help. From the images, It appears that you have some residual swelling but are on the right track. If you are concerned you should follow-up with your board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck.
Your photos still demonstrate some swelling of the arms, which is entirely normal two months after liposuction. It generally takes at least 6 months for all of the swelling to disappear. If the pain and soreness is debilitating, lymphatic massage can be a useful adjunct to help the swelling go away faster.Hope this helps! Sam Jejurikar, MD
While recovery will vary from patient to patient, the worst of the discomfort will resolve over the first 6-8 weeks. It is not uncommon for some symptoms of soreness to persist for 4-6 months. Compression/massage and motion are important for healing and are recommended.Your final result may not be apparent until 6 months. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).Donovan Rosas MDBoard Certified by the American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember: American Society for Aesthetic PlasticSurgery, American Society of Plastic SurgeonsRealSelf Top 100RealSelfHall of Fame
Thank you for sharing your photos and concern,I would recommend you continue wearing your compression garment and try the lymphatic massages with a professional therapist to help with the swelling and tightness. Please, follow up closely with your plastic surgeon.Good luck.
Yes it is common to have some soreness and tightness at this stage. If the pains is unilateral consider palpating the areas looking for atender spot or "trigger point". Those are often caused by very small sensory branches that are trying to heal. They respond well to massage and desensitization. Best wishes.
Thank you for providing photos. Yes its normal to have soreness and feeling tight. You are still healing, remember to follow your surgeons post operative instructions.Best of luck to you
Dear Callsue, Thank you for your question. You are still early after liposuction surgery. Most of the swelling and tightness is expected to subside within the first 8-12 weeks, the remaining can take up to 6-12 months. Your skin is expected to undergo changes during that time and to retract to some degree. So I caution patient to not expect the final result for several months after surgery. I wish you well for your continuous healing process. Best wishes, Franziska Huettner
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages...
Hello. Great question. You will need a medical clearance to be a candidate for liposuction. A clearance which states that you are in good condition to undergo a cosmetic surgical procedure.
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. I will suggest following your surgeon’s post op instructions as he knows your procedure best. At 6 weeks you are still early in your recovery process, you have yet to see your final results.
