Hi, I have previously had liposuction with BodyTite last week. Whenever I take the binder off, it looks great then when I shower, it seems to revert back to how it was before. Could someone please explain this.
Answer: 1 wk PO with BodyTite. When I take the binder off it looks great, but when I shower it reverts to pre-op. Can you explain this? The compression garment places pressure on areas of liposuction to control fluid and swelling. The patients who tend to have healing issues with larger volume liposuction procedures tend to be the ones who do not wear the compression garments at all, wear them very inconsistently, or do not wear them snugly covering all areas of liposuction. Answer: 1 wk PO with BodyTite. When I take the binder off it looks great, but when I shower it reverts to pre-op. Can you explain this? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results. It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery. Please, follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)

You are still early in the healing process and what you are seeing may not be your final results yet. Usually swelling is still present at this time and should temporarily alter your results. However, swelling usually resolves on its own through the coming months. It usually takes around 6 months to fully heal and only by then will you be able to conclude your final results.

Answer: Losing results without a compression your swollen and the compression garment is squeezing the fluid out of your tissues. When you take the compression garment off you swell up again. Results immediately after taking off compression garments at 24 hours after the procedure is a sneak preview of what the final results can look like. Patient shut then expect to swell for several weeks losing some of those results. Six weeks is a good time frame to look in the mirror. Final results typically takes 3 to 6 months.
