Thanks so much for your inquire, In a BBL, fat is typically harvested from areas of your body through liposuction and then injected into your buttocks to enhance their shape and size. Gaining weight prior to the procedure might increase the amount of fat available for transfer, potentially leading to more significant results.Whether or not to gain weight for better results in a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is a decision that should be made in consultation with a qualified medical professional, preferably the plastic surgeon who will be performing the procedure.Sincerely, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol
Your current body fat seems to be sufficient for the procedure, as fat for BBL is harvested through liposuction from areas like the abdomen, flanks, and back. Gaining weight could potentially provide more fat for liposuction and fat transfer, but not all fat gained is usable for the procedure, and some may go to internal fat stores that cannot be used for transfer. If you’re seeking a more proportional look with a focus on a fuller butt without increasing your hips too much, liposuction to create an hourglass figure will help enhance your shape, and the transferred fat can create fullness in your gluteal area. It is very rare that I request a patient to gain weight for a BBL.Consulting with an experienced plastic surgeon is the best next step. Thanks for your question. From your pictures, you seem to be a good BBL candidate. The BBL includes 360 lipo, which is lipo of the upper and lower abdomen, the upper and lower back and the flanks. In addition, if you do not have enough fat in these areas, liposuction can be performed in many other areas of the body for fat transfer to the buttocks, such as the upper arms and chin. Depending on your desired results, you may be asked to gain some weight. I recommend you schedule a consult for a proper evaluation. Make sure your surgeon you choose has extensive experience and clean credentials. Always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Moises Salama MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hello and thank you for your question. In general, patients with a healthy/slightly overweight BMI are the best candidates for a BBL as the amount of fat that can be transferred is dependent on the amount of quality donor fat. However, please do not misinterpret this - gaining just a few pounds is not a bad/unhealthy thing but we can't necessarily choose where our body gains the fat. Some of the extra weight/fat will be in the form of visceral/internal abdominal fat which is bad for your long term health and this is also fat that we cannot safely remove with liposuction (behind the abdominal muscle fat). So too much weight/fat gain is ultimately unhealthy and some of that fat will go to places that can't be used for fat transfer anyways. Judging from your photos, liposuction of the abdomen, flanks and lower back will cinch/create a narrow waistline and will better frame the upper pole of the gluteal region. This, in combination with transferring the available quality fat to the gluteus will create a nice result. The next best step is to see a board certified plastic surgeon for an-office consultation!
Dear kimmyp1997,based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hi dear. In your case, a BBL is an excellent option to balance the shape and volume of your buttocks. The BBL not only increases the volume of the buttocks, but also allows for the shaping and contouring of specific areas. You can write to us at 829-554-6062 to give you all the recommendations for your surgery.
Yes a BMI of 25 in case you want to have a large BBL. Make sure that the viability of fat cells is thereby ensuring the pocket is not stretched out so much.
Thank you for your question. A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) typically involves 360-degree liposuction, targeting the upper and lower abdomen, upper and lower back, and flanks. If there isn't enough fat in these areas for transfer to the buttocks, liposuction can be performed in other areas like the upper arms and chin. I advise scheduling a consultation, so your selected surgeon can have a better understanding of what you're looking for and work from there. It's crucial to choose a surgeon with extensive experience in BBL procedures and impeccable credentials. Always consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Take care.
You are an excellent candidate for a BBL. I would not suggest gaining any weight prior to having a BBL as the fat most likely will go internally and this will actually take away from your shape and you have sufficient fat right now to be able to use to get more fullness in your gluteal area as well as hips. You have a naturally small waist so when liposuction reveals the waist it will automatically make your butt appear fuller even before the fat is injected. I left a link to a video for you.
Dear kimmyp1997,You appear to be a great candidate for a BBL at your current weight. I would not recommend gaining any more. Good luck!

For bodybuilders looking to address hip dips, a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) can be a suitable option, especially if you have enough fat on your flanks, low back, and inner thighs. A petite BBL can help round out your hips without creating an exaggerated look. Maintaining a stable weight for at...
Thank you for your query. The doctor just means that there was some tumescent fluid that was injected along with the fat. This just gets absorbed and does not cause any problems, although the actual fat injected is much less than the stated total amount. As techniques have improved , most of...
