I had a Mommy makeover on 10/16 and since 2wpo Im having pain in my side/under left breast. Saw my ps and he's not concerned said it's nerve pain. I was put on GABAPENTIN last week. 100mg 3xs a day but it was making me feel loopy. So he said 100mg at night for a week but still having this like burning gnawing pain. So today at my po visit he said do 200mg at night now. How long does nerve pain usually last? When should I begin to feel relief ? Is this normal?

Answer: Nerve pain after mommy makeover? Thank you for your excellent question. After an augmentation the nerves of the skin are stretched as a result of swelling and the increased volume of the implants. This stretching irritates the nerves which can cause a number of different nipple and breast skin sensations including increased/decreased sensitivity or a burning/electrical feeling. These normally resolve spontaneously given enough time. Hang in there and be sure to mention these issues to your surgeon during your post-operative appointments so they can track your improvement over the next 6 weeks to months

Answer: Nerve pain post MM Hello! The nerve pain is likely related to sutures tightening your abdominal muscles. If there is focal pain, sometimes this can be injected with steroid solution and have incredible results. Also be mindful about your diet and foods that may cause bloat which stretches your abdominal muscles. Gabapentin is not well tolerated by everyone. You may want to try ibuprofen or naprosyn. Continue your dialogue with your surgeon - that's your best bet!
