Should I have done a colonic hydrotherapy one week prior to mommy makeover?

Question

I was recommended to do colonic hydrotherapy before my tummy tuck to cleanse my colon. I am one week off having my surgery, was this a good idea? I was recommended to do another two but I am unsure. My weight is 85kgs and height 165cms.

I do not recommend colonic hydrotherapy prior to TTs, but your PS obviously has his/her reasons.  Discuss those reasons with your PS and then decide if you think you would benefit from two more. I am not sure why this is necessary and I don't believe this is commonly requested by most surgeons.  However this appears to be your doctor's preference.  If you are concerned I would discuss this further with your plastic surgeon.  I would discuss further with your doctor.

Opinions will vary by surgeon on this topic.  I recommend speaking with your surgeon as to the pros and cons of undergoing this procedure prior to surgery.  Together you can decide what is best for you.

I am not aware of any evidence showing improved recovery of either preop or postop colonic hydrotherapy and TT. Equally I am not aware of any evidence against its use.
