Incisions are made around the pigmented area (the nipple areolar complex) and extend vertically below the nipple and in the fold under the breast. The nipple areolar complex is moved upward to the desired location, while excess breast tissue, skin, and fat are removed.

This patient received a breast reduction to improve the size and shape of her breasts.

Patient is 5'5 , 160 pounds and consulted with Dr. Schaffer about improving the appearance of her breasts. Breast Reduction surgery was recommended to reduce the size and weight of the breasts.

Breast reduction with 1.3kg tissue removed.

This 39 year-old female was diagnosed with left sided breast cancer. Because of her high risk of developing breast cancer on the opposite side, she opted for bilateral mastectomies. The removal of the breast tissue was performed through an incision on the bottom of the breast (i.e. the inframammary fold). In order to prevent the animation deformity that is sometimes seen in submuscular breast reconstruction, the MENTOR ARTOURA Breast Tissue Expanders were placed in the prepectoral position and covered with Alloderm. Several months later, the expanders were replaced with the most advanced, new MemoryGel XTRA silicone implants. A small amount of fat transfer to help contour the upper portion of the breast was performed as a minor procedure several months later. Postoperative result at 1 year shows excellent symmetry and shape, preservation of the nipple tissue, all designed to the patients desire to also increase breast volume.

3 months post breast reduction to address neck and back pain and improve proportions. She feels so much better with over 1lbs removed from each breast.

This woman in her mid-twenties with macromastia desired a breast reduction from a DD to a full C or small D cup. Dr. Howell performed her surgery, and she is very happy with her results.  She has nice size, shape and symmetry and is featured before and three months afterwards.

One year after this patients breast reduction, she reports her quality of life has vastly improved! She no longer struggles with discomfort, exercise, insecurity, or fit of clothing.

This 28 yo female wanted her breast size reduced and her breast position lifted. We performed an inferior pedicle breast reduction on her and removed approximately 1 pound of breast tissue from each side. Notice the improvement in size, position, and shape! This will be not only a cosmetic improvement for her but also a functional one too.
