45-54 year old woman treated with Breast Reduction

This patient is a 66-year-old female with complaints of symptomatic macromastia (pain from large breasts), which included back, neck and shoulder issues due to large, pendulous breasts. I felt that a breast reduction with inverted T-scar mastopexy would give the patient the best overall results and would give her a significant improvement in her symptoms. The patient also had significant abdominal elastosis with excess fullness in the flanks and I felt that a full tummy tuck with liposuction of the flanks would give her the best result as well.In surgery I performed a breast reduction with a full tummy tuck and liposuction of the flanks. She recovered well after surgery and was very happy with her improved appearance as well as with the resolution of her back and neck issues.

This patient is a 50-year-old female who presented to my office with complaints of breast size larger than desired which caused back, neck, and shoulder pain and discomfort with her arms. I felt a bilateral breast reduction would give the patient significant improvement in her back, neck and shoulder symptoms. During surgery I performed an anchor scar lift and removed 576 grams of tissue from the left and 531 grams from the right. This patient recovered well and was thrilled with the improvements in her appearance and physical symptoms.

	Breast Reduction is done under general anesthesia. Incisions are made around the pigmented area (the nipple areolar complex) and extend vertically below the nipple and in the fold under the breast. The nipple areolar complex is moved upward to the desired location, while excess breast tissue, skin, and fat are removed.

18-24 year old woman treated with Breast Reduction

This 39 year-old female was diagnosed with left sided breast cancer. Because of her high risk of developing breast cancer on the opposite side, she opted for bilateral mastectomies. The removal of the breast tissue was performed through an incision on the bottom of the breast (i.e. the inframammary fold). In order to prevent the animation deformity that is sometimes seen in submuscular breast reconstruction, the MENTOR ARTOURA Breast Tissue Expanders were placed in the prepectoral position and covered with Alloderm. Several months later, the expanders were replaced with the most advanced, new MemoryGel XTRA silicone implants. A small amount of fat transfer to help contour the upper portion of the breast was performed as a minor procedure several months later. Postoperative result at 1 year shows excellent symmetry and shape, preservation of the nipple tissue, all designed to the patients desire to also increase breast volume.
