I just want to start off with this: getting a breast augmentation is the BEST thing I have ever done. Initially, when I saw them on day 3 I absolutely freaked out and thought I hated them. I believe that was due to the shock factor of going from being absolutely flat chested to having boobs and thinking that they were MASSIVE. I also believe that the muscle relaxers were causing me confusion and the inability to think straight. Luckily I was able to recognize this by day 3. By day 6 I stopped the muscle relaxers after consulting with my doctor and that’s when I really knew how much I loved them. The surgery: I did what is called an awake breast augmentation. Sounds scary I know. But the surgery itself was not bad at all. I was actually able to talk to my surgeon during the operation and learned some new things. The only thing that hurt was the sternal shots. (Those left some scabs). I watched videos on it prior to the surgery so I knew that I could do it. Post operation: the first day I threw up twice once I was home. I’m not sure if it was due to the pain or if the nitrous oxide made me nauseous. The first 3 days were BRUTAL. Day 2 is when I felt the most pain. Day 3 I believe I stopped taking hydrocodone and replaced it with Tylenol. Day 4 I stopped all medications that alleviated pain because I was no longer feeling pain. Just very tight. Day 6 I began driving and returned to work. Driving was challenging bc of how tight I felt. By day 8 I felt completely fine and could perform most movements. I am currently 17 days post op and feel great. I have not removed my tape to see my scars yet however Sorry, I don’t have many before photos as I always tried to hide how flat chested I was. My doctor did a PHENOMENAL job. This is my personal experience. Of course, do what is best for you and consult with your doctor. Updated on 27 Dec 2020: My scars aren’t pictured but they’re looking better and better each week. The implants have softened up quite a bit. I can’t wait to see the results when they reach their final resting positions and feel more natural. Sometimes I think that maybe I should have gone bigger but I’m still in love with the results thus far.
I wasn't expecting to stay so long at my consult for my BA, but I'm glad I did. Dr. Barlett was very thorough. He explained the procedure from beginning to end. And was very clear that if I wanted to change my mind for any reason to call the office; whether it was to up cc's or down my cc's; questions; and what not.
I came to Dr. Bartlett for an augmentation. I was immediately impressed by his huge wealth of knowledge. He spent a lot of time explaining all options to me to figure out what I wanted. With his experience though, he knew exactly what provides the best results. I wasn't fond of the method for choosing a size. He has you stuff bags of birdseed onto a grandma bra to see how you like the size/weight. It made it hard to tell what the exact end result would be though. At least he checked measurements to see if he thought they would turn out well. After 3 months of ups and downs, I am overall happy with my results. I feel like I might need a slight lift, but he recommended I wait until they settle more with hopes that they will look fine on their own. I can tell he has my best interest at heart. He did a great job with the operation and I would definitely recommend him.
I just LOVE my results; from an A cup to DOUBLE D's!! Dr. Barlett made me feel comfortable and definitely going back for another procedure! All my questions were answered and his staff is great!! I cannot wait to have my second procedure done and feel absolutely great in my skin. Thanks again Dr. Barlett!!
I went to my consult with Dr. Bartlett, not expecting to book the surgery or feel confident in my decision. .I was totally wrong! I had a paper of front and back questions I had for him, and he answered every single one with ease and knowledge. He has so much experience. His bedside manner is great. I booked my surgery after a 2 1/2 hr consult. The day I went in, both him and his staff were great, did not feel nervous at all. The procedure went perfectly. In fact I was scheduled to have a mastoplexy, but during the procedure he placed the implant and decided he didn't want to do it because he thought my nipples would be too high after. He refunded my money for it and said if I ended up needing after healed he would do it for the same price. I was pleased he didn't procede with it, thinking I didn't need it. I'm still healing, and still have some dropping to do, but I am very happy with the procedure, process, the staff, and of course the surgeon!
I had my breast augmentation two years ago , and I was really excited and had been wanting them for a long time. I went from an A to Double D's sometimes bigger and I'm a small girl. But that's what I wanted was big. Because who's going to pay all that money and not want BIG ha . But he was honest and said I would have complications if I went the desired size I wanted. I love the size that he chose. But I'm not going to lie , after the surgery the follow up was horrible. I saw him once after and it was quick. I asked him questions because after a couple weeks one side was still wayyy higher than the other. So they finally got me an appointment and they gave me a bandage type thing to wrap around my chest and push it down. Well I did that until it finally dropped into place. But here we are now and the boob that they told me to push down is sagging.I just won't be going back. I'm looking into a breast lift now and I won't be going to him.
I had the worst breast job ever and now I'm stuck with it... my ps refuses to acknowledge and problem. I don't know what to do or if I just need to take them out. I'm afraid of another surgery and the results.
This doctor admitted to me he can't see very well. He was rude and belittled me. I had lift and implants in March. Right away I knew they weren't correct. He made me wait 12 weeks. I scheduled my 12 week appointment with him well in advance as I live in another state. I asked him back when I scheduled it, if I need a revision , what are we looking at as far as cost and when can I get in for it? His office scheduled me and then he told me at the appointment that I should have scheduled the appointment a few days earlier that way he wouldn't have to squeeze me in for surgery and reschedule his other patients. He made me feel like it was my fault for the scheduling conflict. So he squeezed me in. His phone number called me and it rang once and no message was left. So I called back because since I was coming from out of town, I needed to make sure it was still set. So the answering service called him and he called me back. The first thing he said to me, was what's wrong now? That is completely rude and unprofessional. Also, on top of all of this, he does the procedures for breast under local anesthesia. So I was awake for both procedures the entire time. He also told me I have a really low pain tolerance, but I'm sorry when I can feel the cutting and the cauterization, that doesn't feel good at all. I would not recommend him for any procedure. On top of the 8713.00 I spent for the initial lift and implants, I spent an additional 860.00 for the revision of the lift and reduction of my breast tissue. Which he said was 20% of the total cost of the revision. Which I don't understand why I have to pay that as it was his own operating room, I already had the implants in place and he didn't put me under general anesthesia, so it wasn't for materials, anesthesia or operating room. Highly disappointed.
Wonderful staff and the office girls are super friendly! I'm going to Dr. Bartlett for a capsulectomy after having my saline implants for over 10 years. I've experienced tons of breast implant illness symptoms and am so ready to have them removed. I was initially a B cup after my implants a DD. I will give an update after my removal! I can't wait to feel like me again after all this time.
Ok I am 41 yrs old and have wanted implants my whole life. I have been saving for the last year-and-a-half. My surgery is scheduled for the 10th which is in 4 days and I'm so excited and so nervous at the same time I just don't want anything to go wrong. Dr. Sylvan Bartlett is the doctor performing my surgery and unfortunately I haven't been able to find too many reviews. I thought silicon was better than Saline but he convinced me otherwise which I really hope it's true. He will be putting implants under both muscles. I am a small a cup now and I'm having 350 cc's in one side and 380 cc's of the other. Any input advice or suggestions would be very helpful. And by the small chance that anybody has heard of dr. Sylvan Bartlett and give me any information at all would be extremely helpful
One shoe does not fit all feet, and the same can be said of face lifting procedures. If you have maintained a good, stable weight and are in your late 30's or early 40's almost anything done will be a success. If your are 50 to 70 years old and have let your weight vary significantly over the years and have considerable negative changes in the neck, you will need a more expansive procedure to correct these problems. I have devised a procedure which is more than a mini-lift but moves tissue in a verticle direction which eliminates the need for about half of the usual dissection. This usually is done comfortably and safely with local anesthesia.
After your skin is anesthetized you should not have any discomfort but will feel tactle sensation such as pressure and touch. After the procedure you will have onlly minimal discomfort as long as you keep it covered with ointment.
