WORTH IT
I’m 37 and a single mom of three 15, 11 and 3. I’ve had big breasts since I was a teen, but they increased in size after my 2nd child. I’m a 40 DDD. I’ve had back and neck pains for years and I’ve also had insecurities with how they sag and make me look top heavy. I’m also overweight. 5’7 200lbs. I hate working out because I have to war two sports bras, or a bra under my sports bra which really really takes a toll on my neck and back during and after work out. I’ve wanted a breast reduction since forever. My mom and cousin had one, which made me want one even more after seeing that they recovered well, with barley any after pain that wasn’t manageable. Being that I’m a single mom I just couldn’t do it with young kids and no help. My parent work and I don’t have any other friends at familiy to help. Now that I do, I’ve moved forward with the decision and I’m excited/ scared. I was approved with no issues through my insurance and my surgery is scheduled for May 4th. If anyone else is due for surgery soon Going from a similar size like mine to a D or DD, hit me up so we can go through this journey together. Also any tips for pre surgery from anyone is welcome. I have purchased post op bras from amazon, Arnica Montana 30x which my Dr recommended to help with pain, bruising and swelling, and I ordered a wedge pillow to help me sleep on my back, because I’m a side or stomach sleeper, so I got it to make my back sleeping elevated and comfortable. I haven’t bought the scar guard cream yet because it won’t be needed until the surgical tape comes off so I have time to buy that. I’m posting a pic of my horrible [RS bleep] before surgery and posting them here ONLY to help other women on their journey that may have similar breast to mine and also a review of my surgeons work. I’m a big fan of real reviews and before and after pics. My surgeon barley has any before and after pics of breast reductions so (speaking into existence) my pics will show how good she is. I will only speak positively about my outcome but I will be extremely honest and realistic about everything from here on out for the purpose of this group and review of my surgeon.

Preparations
So, I got the call from the hospital Friday4/27, getting me prepared for my surgery on Friday 5/4. They asked me if I’m taking any meds or any vitamins or OTC medications. She told me what and what i had to stop taking due to affects of the anesthesia. She requested that i not wear any make up or dark nail polish. They requested that i bathe with an antibacterial soap the night before and the morning of surgery. They asked about family history, if I’d had any prior surgeries, transportation arrangements and where to go the day of my surgery. She couldn’t answer any questions regarding the actual procedure or medications questions, they said i had to ask my nurse or the surgeon. Then after the call they emailed me the same instructions, with the do’s and the dont’s. Then [RS bleep] got really real to me. The date really creeped up on me. Ive been waiting since October when i received the insurance approval. I’m extremely anxious. Not so much worried, just wanting to get the worst parts over with really. I went out and bought a few things this weekend. I was gonna deep clean my house, but i have a three year old a teen and pre teen, so i know ill end up cleaning again this week, so i figured let me just chill and deep clean this week when they’re at school and daycare. I want my room and bathroom to be spic and spam. I’m currently washing all of my sheets, pj’s underwear and the bras i purchased for post op. I add dettol to my laundry as well which i usually do anyway (It’s an island thing). I also bought the dettol bar soap to wash with before the surgery. I just have to be carful around my Kooty Kat with that soap because its kind of harsh. I’m so ready to get this over with. Ill be working till the day of my surgery. I wish i took the day off prior to surgery, but its too late now because my boss added a bunch of meetings to my calendar (Uggh). I have so much to do. I need to go grocery shopping for lots of healthy foods and protein filled foods for after surgery, and make sure my house is stocked up for the kids so they don’t come ask me for nothing while I’m trying to rest. That microwave gonna be spinning hard next week cause I’m not doing nothingM, if anything they better cook me something. LOL My surgeon advised that protein filled foods will help be bounce back and heal faster. I’m drinking lots of water now and ill need to continue to do so after, so I’m gonna buy a case of water and keep it in my room for MY USE ONLY. You know how it is with kids They will use off everything they have access to, and 2 of my kids primarily only drink water, so i need my own stash.
