I'm 18 and lost over 100 pounds. I have a lot of saggy skin and feel like an old lady. It's very stressful for me to be covered in all this wrinkly and saggy skin. I cry about this daily. I won't date either. I've considered going to Mexico to get these surgeries done because I can't afford them in the US. I tried to get insurance to cover it and also applied for care credit but was denied. Is there any other way to get insurance to cover these surgeries?
I've lost over 100 lbs, and because of EDS, my loose skin is a much bigger issue than for normal people. It's extensive, and tears/bruises any time I get dressed or exercise. It's worse of my arms and thighs, but isn't exactly pleasant on my torso, either. I've also been experiencing a lot of breast and back pain, because while the rest of me shrunk, I'm now a droopy F cup. Do my increased surgical risks outweigh my long term discomfort/risk of infection from tears?
Body lift surgery. 2 weeks: cellulitis in the incision in my back (2 rounds of antibiotics) Slowly closed across my back except this one spot. It was drubbing but kept opening and oozing. Since it was still shrinking I waited. 7-8 months: see pcp, get a typical antibiotic, applied for 2 montgs with minimal result. 10 months: strep throat, antibiotics, step throat again, antibiotics. Wound closes. 12 montgs: Wound just reopened and it's oozing again. What can be done?
What would be best to get rid of the back roll at the bottom and the sacral fat pad? Im in the middle of losing weight but I hate the roll at my lower back and sacral fat pad. Ive had lipo on the butt shelf but it still never looked the way I wanted it to. This has a very bad effect on my mental health.
Hello, I have loose skin on my upper body and have had a consultation with an experienced, reputable surgeon at a JCI accredited hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. The surgeon has given me various options, one of which is to have a 360 belt tummy tuck, lower back liposuction, male breast reduction, nipple graft, and backlift. These would all be completed in one procedure. I am in my mid forties, have eczema which is controlled with 12.5mg of methotrexate each week, and asthma which is controlled with ventolin. The surgeon's before and after photos were excellent and I trusted that he had my best interests at heart. He estimated that the surgery would take 7 hours to complete. I would like to get a few more opinions on whether all of these procedures are safe to be combined in one operation? P.S. I am an ex smoker who has used a vape since 2020. I stopped using the vape two days ago, to allow myself 4 weeks of not smoking before this potential procedure. Thanks everyone.
F32 down 212lbs since October 2021, 157lbs 5'7. I workout doing combat sports and conditioning 12-13 hours a week, no chronic medical conditions. I've been on a weight loss and fitness journey for a while now, and have always thought my goal weight would be 150, but that was arbitrary. I recently got a follow up DEXA scan, and found that my torso is at 21% body fat, with my overall body fat of 26%, which was lower than I thought (my legs, however, are at 32% ). With my body fat lower than I expected, I realize that each additional pound I lose isnt going to contribute meaningfully to an improved appearance. In other words, I keep waiting to look fit but now it seems thats not likely. However, I assume Ill require a lot of procedures, and know that these types of surgeries are often shorter on those with lower body fat. Is there a world where an additional 8lbs lost might result in being able to bundle one more procedure into a surgery? And if so is that a good reason to delay seeking out a consult until Ive lost more weight? Or am I not lean enough for that to make a difference? Ive found the surgeons Im interested in have (understandably) significant fees for a consult, and I dont want to waste a round of consults only for that additional weight to change the game plan/potential possibilities. Thank you for your time!
What preparatory measures like weight loss, exercise or adjusting medication dosage will maximize the probability of a successful body lift? What medications can slow down the process of healing? Are their things that can be done before and after a body lift for the most effective healing?
I workout 4-5 times per week, usually running 3-4 miles per day or a kickboxing workout. If I have a full lower body lift will I be able to resume these type of workouts without ruining my results?
Hello! I have recently lost a lot of weight and undergone a breast lift. Ive been advised to wear a bra as much as possible to help minimise tissue stretching from gravity, to delay sagging over time. I am also looking to get a body lift. I really want to maintain my results as long as possible after my surgeries. Of course, my main focus after my skin has been tightened is to maintain the weight. But I would like to know what else I can do to maintain the tighter skin as long as possible for the rest of my body too? Will wearing compression garments/supportive shapewear for the rest of my body help to support the tissue and skin and subsequently delay age-related sagging in the same way that a bra supports the breasts? Thank you in advance for your help!
