I am 3.5 weeks post op from circumferential body lift and brachioplasty. I started off with 6 drains and now have 1 drain that is still putting out 80-100cc in a 24 hour period. When I'm active during the day ( walking around, going to restaurants, general errands) I have minimal drainage, about 5-10cc. However once I go to sleep and I'm laying still all night I will have 70cc when I wake up. What could be causing this and when could the drain come out at this rate?
I had a lower body lift on 11/16. One small hole has drained continuously for six weeks. Last week it opened large and stitches came out so the PS stitched it. Within 48 hrs I had staph. We did a culture and Im doing shots in the muscle every day. Im leaving Wednesday to USA/home. The doctors wants to restitch in surgery Center on Monday. With so much drainage wont the stitches pool the drainage and cause another infection. Theres barely any skin to close. We have some language barriers.
My coccyx area has been hurting for days now. I was sure I was developing a pressure ulcer or something, even though I get up to walk every 2 hours. Today it was draining so I gave in an lifted the tape a bit an saw this. I went to the doctor but he was in surgery so the nurse looked at it. She said it was just a stitch coming out and put gauze and tape on it and told me not to take it back off. I have an appointment on Monday with the doctor. But I'm scared that my whole backside is gonna open.
I had a lower body lift on 11/7/16, after 120 weight loss. I now have what I would guess is a larger seroma in from pubis area (see pictures). My PS says seromas do not need draining and the really are more of a nusance. I am so scared I am going to ruin the work we did.... what can I do?
i am 6 weeks post circumferential body lift. I developed a large seroma in my lower ab/pubic are , PS was able to drain out 500 ml and placed a new JP drain. It has been one week and my fluid out put is 75 ml in 24 hour period. I have compression garment on but feel swollen in lower ab/pubic area. I had someone suggest to me to lay flat in bed and place a flat 5 pound weight on the lower ab and see if it helps. Is this safe/effective?
I'm flying down to Miami to have a Lower Body Lift and I'm worried that the fluids will not drain fast enough before I have to return home. Is there something specific I can do to speed up the drainage process? Or something I should avoid?
