I developed a opening in the cleft at week 2 it seems to be getting larger. My surgeon like others says to keep the area dry with sterile gauze. How long will something like this take to heal? I'm eating a high protein diet, multivitamins, and vitamin c daily.
Why am I seeing so many pictures of wound openings weeks after a lower body lift? What is the rate of this? What will help to avoid this? I don't smoke and plan to increase my protein intake months before and after. Will this help, or does this just happen to some people? Honestly, I'm terrified of this possibility and missing too much work...
I had a lower body lift on 11/16. One small hole has drained continuously for six weeks. Last week it opened large and stitches came out so the PS stitched it. Within 48 hrs I had staph. We did a culture and Im doing shots in the muscle every day. Im leaving Wednesday to USA/home. The doctors wants to restitch in surgery Center on Monday. With so much drainage wont the stitches pool the drainage and cause another infection. Theres barely any skin to close. We have some language barriers.
I have had circumferential body lift on June 30 , after about two weeks of surgery I developed infection and fluids accumulation( seroma ) , the doctor had to have it open and cleared it out but I still have the open wound and it still draining , I also had an opening on my back that draining fluids , I haven't worn my compression garments since I had the open wound , I was woundering if I am supposed to wear it now or should I not ? Im almost 4 weeks post op
My coccyx area has been hurting for days now. I was sure I was developing a pressure ulcer or something, even though I get up to walk every 2 hours. Today it was draining so I gave in an lifted the tape a bit an saw this. I went to the doctor but he was in surgery so the nurse looked at it. She said it was just a stitch coming out and put gauze and tape on it and told me not to take it back off. I have an appointment on Monday with the doctor. But I'm scared that my whole backside is gonna open.
I had a body lift one month ago. At first it seemed to be healing fine but then there was a small hole in the back Since then my back has come open in three places and they are fairly large. I've been told that that has to heal from the inside out but the wounds look horrible and I'm afraid I'll never heal. My physical activity is severely limited. Does anyone have any advice on if this is common or if there is anything I can do to fix the problem? Sorry for the graphic nature of the pictures.
Body lift surgery. 2 weeks: cellulitis in the incision in my back (2 rounds of antibiotics) Slowly closed across my back except this one spot. It was drubbing but kept opening and oozing. Since it was still shrinking I waited. 7-8 months: see pcp, get a typical antibiotic, applied for 2 montgs with minimal result. 10 months: strep throat, antibiotics, step throat again, antibiotics. Wound closes. 12 montgs: Wound just reopened and it's oozing again. What can be done?
