I was on spiro for many years, worked great, except that makes me extremely tired and lowers my blood pressure a lot. Changed to Seysara, works great except my skin, hair get greasy, sometimes is hard on my gut, is expensive and I dislike the idea of long term use. My doctor has been great but Im looking for other opinions. Could I mix those two in minimum doses? Im 145lb 5,5 ft. What could be a minimum dosage that keeps my skin somehow clear, while keeping my energy and not breaking the bank?
Hi there! I have mild but persistent acne on my jawline and cheeks. I was on Diane-35 for 3 years which completely cleared up my acne - but I stopped 1 year ago. 6 months ago I began breaking out again. My aesthetician told me to take Osmosis Skin Defense supplements (3 per day) which I'm not sure has helped. I just received a script for Spiro - should I take both together? Will this increase effectiveness or should I stop taking DIM and take Spiro alone? Thanks so much
I'm 18, had accutane4 years ago, since then I've had problems getting my period. Cycle wasn't coming naturally (i could wait for 4 months and nothing), then I was on progesterone and started getting my period again, but cycle wasn't regular (+ 35 days). I stopped taking progesterone and waited to see if my body would take over on its own, didn't work. later I started taking spironolactone for facial hair reduction and acne, and I surprisingly got my period after 4months of nth, cycle is 18 days
I have limited break outs but severely oily skin and congested pores that become stretched as a result. One doctor recommended spironolactone and another recommended a course of 20mg Accutane. Re spironolactone I am confident it will work as it worked for my sister but I am concerned about the association with cancer and the need to take a pill every day. I was also told that Accutane may not help with oil after the treatment. Which course is safest and most effective?
Ive had cystic acne for 15 years. I have PCOS,not sure its the cause. My parents never cared to take me to dermatologist and now Im left with terrible scarring and still getting inflammed pimples and cysts. Im on Arankele and its not working.Im Avoiding accutane for now because I know that the purging will anyhilate the rest of my skin and leave me coverd in more scars... If I use Spiro and a pill like Diane, and Differin, and acne gets more controled, can I use Iso preventatively with no purge?
I believe I have very hormonal acne, and I have tried many topical creams, and nothing has worked. I think that I need to try taking something that will work from the inside out, as I have had acne that is deep under my skin that topicals can't reach. My dermatologist told me I can try Spironolactone, but I am not sure if it will be ok to take while I am on the Depo shot. I am 23 years old and have been struggling with acne on and off for the last three or so years.
My sister (a dermatologist) put me on spiro 150mg/daily back in January. About 2 months later i started having breakthrough bleeding, especially after sex during 2nd half of cycle. Cleared for STI's and pap, very healthy. My body is very sensitive to hormones. My gyn said i have cervical ectropian(often caused by oral cont or anything that increases estrogen). I stopped spiro 3- weeks ago ...how long for hormones to normalize? Would it take months since it takes months to work? 4
I started taking spironolactone 50mg twice a day for just one week and had to stop it because I suffered from sever side effects like confusion, nausea, hyperventilation and fainting. that was two months ago and my period has also stopped,I used to get it every 23 days and now Im worried about it being this late. Is it normal for it to be this late? How do I get my period back ?
I have acne since puberty. I don't have PCOS. I seriously tried everything: 1)I used Roaccutane at age 21; it left gross hyperpigmentation; and mu acne never really went away. 2)I tried Dermapen, RF microneedling, Hydrafacial, Silkpeel, chemical peeling (all at different times/years). None of them has been really helpful. I always moisturise. 3)one thing truly worked was a year long treatment of Spironolactone + Diane 35. But, I can't be on pill all the time? What should/can I do? Please help.
