I'm 37, have braces to fix an overbite and overcrowding (likely due to tongue thrust). I hate the lip incompetence and mentalis strain, and would love to see them gone or greatly diminished. I also want to see a more defined jawline and prominent chin. I would greatly prefer the recovery time of a chin implant over genioplasty. Could an implant achieve my goals? -Thank you!
I had orthodontic work when I was 11-15 which included a metal device (maybe Herbst appliance) that pulled my jaw forward and moved some teeth around, then I had braces to straighten them. I still have quite a large overbite, but it doesn't affect my teeth or jaw my only issue is aesthetically I don't like my weak chin. Would I be eligible for a chin implant considering my overbite? Or would my better option be jaw surgery?
Hello! i have always been conscious of my receded chin. I wore braces for 8 months because of overbite. Now my teeth look amazing, however, i still don't like my side profile at all. my siblings and fr tell me there is nothing wrong with it. I do get compliments on my look but still insecure about my chin. What procedure do you recommend? Is there any permanent solution for it? I heard chin implants are good but has a lot of side effects. thanks!
Hello, I am a 23 yr old male who weighs about 145 lbs and had malocclusion growing up. I had a little bit of an overbite growing up but this problem has since been largely resolved with braces. However, I notice from a side profile that my lower jaw is quite receded where my lower jaw is angled downward and my chin is recessed quite a bit from my lips. I was wondering if I could fix this problem with a chin implant or whether I need something wholesale like orthognathic surgery.
I have an overbite (and maybe an overjet) which may be contributing to an upper lip protrusion. I also have very prominent nasolabial folds and a midface volume deficiency (maybe caused by significant weight loss, but it's been over a year). I'm concerned about the long term impact/longevity of an implant but the cost and complexity of a Genioplasty also worries me. Would either of these procedures improve the appearance of my jaw? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I want a super defined jawline. I have missing bottom teeth however was told my overbite wasn't quite bad enough for Orthognathic surgery. Plus that surgery is too invasive for my liking. I have already had about 5ml of chin/ jawline filler over the past 2 years as well as chin lipo. Yes theyve helped but have not gotten me to where i desire. I'm considering a chin implant but have a feeling even that would not be enough. Attached is my jawline before, my jawline now and my goal.
Hello, my name is Chelsey and im 19. When i was younger i had a bad overbite and made me unable to close my mouth. Now i realized my chin is receded and it is causing me great insecurities. I dont like how my chin looks receded when rested and normal when im smiling. It is as when i close my mouth my chin disappears.
I had mandibular advancement for an overbite 17 months ago. My surgeon has retired. My lower jaw was moved forward 5mm and then my chin was moved forward another 5 mm with a sliding genioplasty. The genioplasty was also jumping meaning my chin was slid on a slight upward incline. However, my chin now looks too large. It is extending horizontally past my lower lip and the chin bone also appears too wide. Also, my lips have thinned a bit. Is a reverse sliding genioplasty the solution?
I have been in braces to fix my overbite for 8 months. I already had a receding chin, but braces have made it worse. Thoughts on jaw surgery or chin implants would be better? Im at a loss.
