Hello! i have always been conscious of my receded chin. I wore braces for 8 months because of overbite. Now my teeth look amazing, however, i still don't like my side profile at all. my siblings and fr tell me there is nothing wrong with it. I do get compliments on my look but still insecure about my chin. What procedure do you recommend? Is there any permanent solution for it? I heard chin implants are good but has a lot of side effects. thanks!
Answer: Chin Implant is OKAY but a Sliding Genioplasty is BETTER! Glorious, Thank you for your pictures. Sounds like you had a work up for an orthodontics and subsequent treatment. There may have needed to be a discussion about jaw surgery to improve your profile as well as your dentition. Since that was not the case, in my opinion, I believe a sliding genioplasty would give you the best to your profile. Best wishes. Answer: You may indeed be a good candidate for Chin implant surgery. You appear to have a bit of a recessive, chin appearance on profile, and the height of the lower third of your face is somewhat small on front view. A well placed and well sized chin implant may be a good remedy for both of these situations implant surgery is relatively non-invasive and carries little risk or downtime. I hope that this is helpful and I thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Chin implant vs Fillers "A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are surgical and non-surgical options to correct this. We can place a chin implant, which is a quick surgical procedure. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, however, so for those patients, we also offer non-surgical chin augmentation with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill, and Sculptra are injected into the area to improve the overall appearance of the lower face and balance the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline, and improve the chin crease. Implants are a great option once you are ready for permanent chin enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Chin implant and lip lift I recommend a chin implant. This will make the chin project more, is done intra-orally under general anesthesia, takes about 1 hour to perform and costs $4,000. You would also benefit from a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. This can be done at the same time and the cost is $3,000. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Many ways to treat "weak" chin Dearr Glorius, It does appear you have a receded chin and as you can tell there are multiple ways to treat it. Non surgeons will always recommend a non surgical approach which is fine for minor recession. It does work but I prefer a more permanent solution. For you degree of recession I would recommend small to medium size chin implant. For mor dramatic recession certainly a sliding genioplasty is the way to go especially if there is need more more advanced facial bony procedures. Se several doctors and I am sure you will come to the right decision for you, Goog Luck, Dr. Schuster in Boca Raton Florida
