I am a 40 yo woman that is generally healthy, healthy weight, rarely gets sick, exercises regularly, no medications, doesn't smoke or drink: but I do have a leukopenia diagnosis. My WBCs are a steady 1.8. Could I be cleared for BA surgery? My hematologist says there is always a risk. My plastic surgeon says I will be fine. What would you advise with the information I have given?
In 2 days I am getting BA surgery. Beforehand I thought it would be wise to get a check up at the skin doctor, obgyn and family doctor. I have the green light from skin and obg dr. But family dr is very much against plastic surgery. On Wed I gave blood and urine. Friday evening I get a call saying everything came back healthy but I have a low white blood cell count of 1.6 and not to go through with surgery. My husband is fighting a cold. I have no symptoms and feel fine. Advice please.
Im set to have breast augmentation surgery next week and just completed my lab work. I have history of low WBC (2.9) and Neutrophils (1.4). Ive visited a hematologist prior and told this is my normal range. All other lab work is great and have never been one to get sick or even hospitalized outside of having children. Im afraid that they might make me cancel/reschedule. My medical clearance is good as well by my PCP. With my history of my WBC, is it possible that they would cancel my surgery?
Hello! I have my breast augmentation surgery scheduled for the 9th of November and naturally, I'm very excited! I just got my blood test results today though, and some of the results were a little low with WBC at 4.1 and Hct at 36 while PTT was 15.9 sec. Should I be concerned, or is this within the norm? My cycle ended this morning, and I had the tests done this afternoon, so not sure if that impacts it. It is my first surgery, so am a bit nervous about these things! Thanks in advance!
I am scheduled for my breast augmentation on May 19th. I had blood test for medical clearance and the results came back with high white blood cell count and high potassium. My doctor put me on antibiotics and she is going to retest me on Monday. My doctor indicated that the test results are showing that I have some kind of infection in my body. I dont have any symptoms of being sick at all. Is this something that happens often? I am confused! Will they reschedule my surgery?
I am scheduled for tomorrow. I took a 3 day antibiotic to treat a urine infection. Ended it yesterday. Got tested again today through blood test and it still shows pretty high. I hope they don't cancel me from getting it..
