I know there are inherent risks involved with any surgery, especially when under general anesthesia, but I wanted to know if I can do anything to reduce the risk of developing a blood clot or any other complication following the procedure.
I am planning to have breast augmentation. I am concern about the history of PE i had during my second pregnancy. I was on blood thinner and later postpartum my haematologist did blood work to check if any factor missing causing clots. Reports cane clean and it was ruled that pregnancy was reason. I am concern as breast augmentation is surgery. Surgery may trigger clots. Please advice way forward.
I am looking into getting a mastopexy + breast augmentation however I have Factor V (heterozygous). I have never had a clot, do not smoke, am on progestin only bc, am a healthy weight, and lead a healthy lifestyle. I am not currently on any blood thinners. My mother( also heterozygous) died of a blood clot but never took any precautions as she had been undiagnosed. Is surgery too risky for me or would blood thinners make this a safe possibility?
I am having a breast enlargement in 1 week, but for the past few days have been experiencing numbness and tingling in my feet. Is this something to be concerned about? I am worried about blood clots. I have been unable to get an appointment with my GP before my surgery.
Doctors found blood clots in my lungs in September of 2017. I was off the medicine and now back on it as of January. I received another CT and the blood clots are now gone but I am still on the medicine. I wanted to get a breast augmentation this summer and wants to know is it safe?
How long are you at an increased risk of blood clot(s) after surgery? I am healthy (weight, Bp, no diseases or conditions) my uncle has had a stroke but he's in his late 50's and has serval conditions such as high Bp, diabetes and he's an alcoholic. I'm wondering if I fly out of town for surgery how long I should plan on staying there before hoping on a quick hour flight back home?
I have ulcerative colitis and Ive been in remission for 8 years also have been on remicade for 8 years. Which is an immunosuppressant. Can I be on this while getting surgery or do I need to be off it for some time before? Also since I'm traveling will I be more prone to blood clots on my plane ride? Im 26.
I had breast augmentation 8 days ago and was told about the risk of blood clots. I have had pain for last 4 days in both legs on and off yesterday behind my left leg and today my right leg is this something to be worried about ie blood clots(no redness or swelling) or as I have back problems could it be having to sleep sitting up putting pressure on nerves or something. my nurse said probably due to the way I was lying on operating table as I have no redness or swelling that it was muscular
Do you all think I will find a doctor confident enough to perform a breast augmentation....even though I had a clot before...I had jugular thrombosis last year Oct...is it too soon to look into getting my breast done....
