Doctors say when Accutane is administered correctly the results will show. Well, not for my case. I ingested a lot of fat with each pill. I eat 'ate' really well on Accutane. I did everything right and so did my doctor. But the acne came back, please tell me the success rate 2nd time around, is there a marked success rate 2nd time around? Why did it not keep my skin under control? Despite environment/stress. I've cut out dairy, booze and caffeine from the diet. Done birth control, done it all.
I don't like eating a lot of fat, it makes me feel slugglish and gross, so I'm on a lower fat diet. I try to keep my fat intake to maybe 60% or 70% below the DV's recommended by the FDA. I've heard that accutane needs to be taken with fat for it to absorb. If you don't eat enough fat, is accutane dangerous to your body, or does it just not absorb as well? I've been eating 2-3 tbsp of peanut butter per day as my main fat source, taken with the pill - is this enough?
I am currently on accutane and have noticed the keto diet has helped my PCOS/ hypothyroidism and would like to continue keto while on the round of accutane but my dermatologist has instructed me to come off leto bc of the strain it puts on the liver but I would like some more opinions on this. Thank you!
The insert and my Derm. said take my Claravis with a fatty meal or food. I see people asking this ALL the time. what HEALTHY fat would be ideal to take the meds with. Many people say Peanut Putter (PB) but most PB is sugar and lard ladden. I understand everyone is different but I think MANY people like me would appreciate a few good choices of fat while still being eating healthy meals.. What about a hard boiled egg or nuts or ??? HELP please.. and THANK YOU!
I read from a lot of places and heard from a lot of people and they all say that what you eat or drink doesn't break you out. But I read somewhere that milk contains some “Active” or “Generating” cells that the cow produces and that these “cells” or whatever are what makes you break out. I tend to take my pills with a glass of milk 'cause I read it's good for the absorption but I'm on day 169 and still “breaking out” (really tiny and non inflamed bumps) here and there. I wonder if it's the milk.
I am beginning Accutane treatment in two weeks. My biggest conern is that almost everyone who uses the drug complains about achy joints. I am a professional dancer and have a huge gig coming up in August. Is there anything I can do while taking Accutane that can prevent/lessen this side effect? Are there certain dietary/supplementary changes I should make to ease the process along?
Dear Doctor, Roche said: oral absorption of isotretinoin is enhanced when given with a high-fat meal. Both peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and the total exposure (AUC) of isotretinoin were more than doubled following a standardized high-fat meal when compared with Accutane given under fasted conditions. My meal while on Accutane just has normal fat like: pan-fried meat, vegetable, bread (no milk). Does it affect the absorption of Accutane? What's the key? Thank you, Doctor! Bests,
