How do I find a good plastic surgeon in Mexico who performs a Mommy Makeover?

question. Unfortunately, there are several risks involved with going out of the
country for a plastic surgery procedure. To ensure your safety, both during the
procedure, and during your recovery period, only choose a board certified
plastic surgeon to perform your Mommy Makeover. A surgeon outside of the United
States does not necessarily have the required education or training that you
will find at home. There also may not be an overseeing board to monitor ethical
physician behavior. Keep in mind, you are also at a disadvantage by not having
a doctor who can closely monitor your recovery progress, or assist should an
emergency arise. I recommend that you look for a board certified plastic
surgeon in your area and schedule a consultation. At this time, he/she will
discuss the cost and your potential payment options. You may be surprised that
the slightly higher cost of a Mommy Makeover in the United States is still less
expensive than you think.

Far more important than deciding if MM is for you is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let him explain why one technique may be better than another and if you need a tummy tuck. Many board certified plastic surgeons provide a free first time consult and you should take advantage of that!

I would not recommend going to Mexico for any surgical procedure. You live in Arizona? There are many board certified plastic surgeons in your area and you're able to see in the USA where they trained and went to school as well as their certifications. I would not even advise trying to figure out who to go to in Mexico. Medical Tourism will cost you in the end in complications and lack of safety. Hope you make the right decision to stay in the US. Hi Sandy.There's no way I could recommend a surgeon in Mexico for you. Surgical tourism is a bad idea, especially if you have serious complications. Why don't you make a consultation with a plastic surgeon in Scottsdale. I believe, you will receive better care and have a better outcome than going to Mexico. Thank you for your question. Finding the proper surgeon is critical to the success of your revision mommy makeover. You need to find a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who specializes in body contouring procedures. The ASPS website will provide a list of properly trained surgeons in your area. You should go on several consultations and see who has experience treating revisions similar to your case. Ask to see a lot of before and after pictures of their work. Hope this helps.

I recommend that you rethink your plan to have your surgery performed abroad.  There are many qualified surgeons in your area who can not only help you achieve a beautiful result, but they can follow you closely during recovery.  It is seen many times in this profession where patients decide to have surgery far away and then have nowhere to turn when complications arise.  I encourage you to rethink your decision and visit a board certified plastic surgeon near you.
