Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.The harmony between facial parts makes us instinctively recognize the beauty... without knowing it, without defining it, just a perception that surprises and captivates us.In this regard, I suggest perform a Closed Rhinoplasty (without visible scars) to treat the tip, base and nasal bridge. With this procedure you get a delicate nose, better harmonize with your other facial features.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Thank you for sending images. The short answer is neither-while we all have facial features that we may want to improve, that does not meanthat one or the other is a problem. That said, it does appear from your images the your chin projection may not come out to the "ideal" which is a line drawn vertically from the lower lip on profile. This can be corrected with chin augmentation. In addition, nose projection can be corrected with rhinoplasty- it is aesthetically much more acceptable to have a strong profile for men and this really comes down to personal choice. It really is impossible to give an exact diagnosis and plan without an exam. I would recommend a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon who regularly performs chin augmentation and rhinoplasty to explore your options.
You have large nose and small chin. Harmonious operation will necessitate rhinoplasty and chin implant.
Computer imaging will help answer your facial imbalance question. It appears as it is due to both the nose and the chin. Ideally both rhinoplasty and chin augmentation should be done. But computer imaging can help you determine which one of the two procedures by itself would be most beneficial.
The photographs demonstrate an overly projecting and large nose, and a weak recessive chin profile. A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish making the nose smaller, however thick skin is a significant impediment to seeing a very refined result. A chin implant procedure can accomplish bringing the chin forward to help with facial balance and proportioned, especially with respect to the overly projecting nose. For many examples of this combination, please see the link and the video below
No one ever "needs" a rhinoplasty. They are elective procedures and only you can determine if your nasal and chin features concern you enough to dosomething about improving the cosmetic appearance of your nose and/or chin and whether itwould be worthwhile.Nasalcosmetic surgery and a chin implant are frequently performed together in theappropriate patient. The ideal aesthetic result should be individualized toachieve harmony with your other facial features and improve the areas thatconcern you. Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other websitewho proposes to tell you what to do based on two dimensional photos withoutexamining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operativeprocedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need tobe individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarilythe best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon withextensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of PlasticSurgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for AestheticPlastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that youtrust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeonin person. The extent and length of the procedure, cost, and the specificoperative steps to achieve an ideal cosmetic result vary from patient topatient and would depend on the findings at your consultation examination.Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla, California
There is only a problem if it bothers you. Your nose projection could be corrected with Rhinoplasty surgery. A strong chin could improve your profile with a chin implant. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is highly experienced with male Rhinoplasty surgery.
This is very early in your recovery, and your nose will undergo many changes over the next few months. Your profile looks to have a good shape, and your frontal view should achieve more refinement as your nose continues to heal and the swelling resolves.
Thanks for your question. The appearance of your alar base reduction is exactly right for only three weeks out from surgery. It can take several weeks to months for scars to fade and this is particularly true of someone with darker skin. With time, these scars will fade to nothing. Another thing...
There should be no problem having these procedures done at the same time and having just one recovery. It makes sense for time off work/downtime and usually the cost is less overall when combined.
