BBL - Does the injection go above the muscle or in the muscle?

The Brazilian
Butt lift is a relatively new procedure and there are several ways that it is
performed. The fat is harvested via
liposuction and then processed so that only pure fat remains for the
augmentation.

The actual
injection of the fat is done in small even aliquots so that the injected fat is
surrounded by natural tissue. The fat
can be injected into several planes depending on the amount of fat that needs
to be injected for the desired augmentation.
In large augmentations, such as greater than 1000cc the fat will need to
be injected in to all of the various planes for the augmentation.

The use of
blunt cannulas and small even injections allow for the placement of large
amounts of fat both above and in the muscle during you Brazilian Butt
Lift.

Hi. Great question. IMHO the best results are obtained when the harvested fat is injected in multiple planes or levels. The majority of the fat I transfer goes into the the subcutaneous space where fat already lives. However, I also inject small amounts sub-muscularly or below the muscle. Always remember that the key is............ does the surgeon have a keen sense of aesthetics? Can he/she create a shapely, attractive buttock or are they just technicians that wind up with large unshapely behinds? The same holds true for the liposuction portion of the procedure. Understand that liposuction whether SAL, PAL or UAL ( not including LAL because the fat obtained through this technique will not be useful) is not that technically challenging. However, the keen aesthetic eye will determine the eventual work of art.We are creators and have the ability to turn out beautiful works of art. Surgeons will differ on manner of injection and depth.  This can be difficult to determine as a patient.  I would focus on finding a surgeon with whom you resonate based upon results and before and after pictures rather than technical aspects of the surgery.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Thank you for youre question... The BBL is well known technique.. the lipotransfer of the fat tissue is injected in small amounts under, between and over de Gluteus muscle to ensure less absorption.  

Greetings, In patients who enough fat,  inject fat into three different anatomic planes: in front of the gluteus maximus muscle, behind the gluteus maximus muscle, and within the gluteus maximus muscle. Because the gluteus muscle is so thick, having the ability to inject into three different anatomic spaces allows there to be less pressure within each compartment. In my opinion, this allows for greater survival rates for the transplanted fat cells.In patients who do not have that much fat to give, I  preferentially inject in front of the muscle. Injecting into this anatomic compartment provides the greatest ability to shape the buttocks.Hope this helps!

Injecting fat under the muscle is dangerous and carries many health risks. This is why no doctor should incur in this practice.

Thank you for your question. Best injection technique involves small amounts placed in multiple planes under the skin, in the muscle throughout the entire region to give an overall large volume enhancement. Depending on the technique used, this results in 60 to 80% of injected volume permanent.

When fat is placed in the buttocks it is commonly placed in multiple layers of the subcutaneous space and muscle.
