Forehead reduction surgery or FUE to reduce hairline? (Photo)

Question

I have a large forehead about 5 fingers big... I'd like to know if I FUE or Forehead reduction surgery would be more effective to reducing it to 3.5 to 4 fingers.

There are many risks and benefits of forehead reduction or FUE surgery.  It is best you see a doctor for an examination to understand if you may even be a candidate for these types of surgeries.

Thank you for your question.  Both are capable of lowering your hairline nicely.  Forehead reduction surgery is a great option for most patients - it gives you an immediately lowered hairline and smaller forehead after the procedure whereas FUE/hair transplants can take about 3-6 months for the hairs to grow to the desired length.  Although with forehead reduction surgery there is an incision and scar, using the right techniques the scar should be almost imperceptible as the hairs grow through the scar.  Either way, it is best to see someone who specializes in both options as well as able to examine you to counsel you on your best options.  Best wishes to you!

First, despite the fact that I use both approaches, I will tell you I have a bias towards forehead reduction because the results are immediate and the hair has normal uniform after surgery. Hair will grow through the incision so the patient has total freedom of styling.

Forehead reduction surgery comes in two types,
the first is a surgical procedure that gives you same day results, the second
is a hair transplant that takes 6-7 months to see.  On my website, there are

had their hairline replaced, lowered or improved. For lowering it as far as you are asking, a hair transplant lowering may be your only option, as the standard surgical procedure for doing this rarely can go beyond a 1 inch reduction.
