Implants with lift or no lift? (Photo)

Question

I am having BA in a couple months and can’t decide if I’d like a lift as well. My surgeon suggests a lift for my goals. I’ve done research and I believe I have grade 1 ptosis? Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m having 275 cc put in. I’d just like to hear some more opinions based on the shape of my breasts in the photos. I’m only 28 years old and have been unhappy with my breasts my whole life. The additional cost is the only thing keeping me from setting my mind to it. Thank you.

Your breasts are widely separated and asymmetrical in volume, shape and position. The technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, small implants or fat transfers can be placed if additional volume is desired.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Based on your photos, implants alone should provide you with adequate lift to correct the level of ptosis, however, your surgeon is the best person to guide your decision making process.

I would be interested in the type of lift being proposed.,if it’s a donut or crescent lift I would not do it. The lollipop lift would be the right procedure for you

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t. Thanks for your question! Depending on your goals and wish pics, my recommendation would likely be to lift as well. That will reduce the size of the areola, get both breasts perkier and improve the shape. If you just do an implant, you will simply have larger breasts that look similar to your breasts now. Yes, you need the lift. Otherwise, you will have larger and still sagging breasts.  You might want to check on Care Credit or Cherry to help financially.

Ideally, your surgeon should have enough before, and after pictures to show you clear evidence of what your results are likely to look like with or without the mastopexy.
You are right on the verge of needing a lift, so there’s no right or wrong. You can always have a lift later, but you can’t reverse the scars of a mastopexy. 
A significant number of patients to undergo breast augmentation end up having a revision surgery within the first five years.
The most common reason women have secondary breast, augmentation surgery, is to increase implant size.
Since there is no right or wrong, answer the decision is ultimately yours and that means you have to make the decision. Having options can be a mixed blessing.
