Is skin necrosis is possible one week after filler? (photo)

Hi and thank you for your question. Usually when you see concerning skin changes after filler placement they occur very early (within the first 24 hours) or delayed (several weeks to months later). Any filler you place in your body is technically something foreign, although they are made up of similar compounds found in normal human bodies. Based upon your picture it does not appear that you are having any evidence of skin necrosis. Your skin may be sensitive in general to either a numbing cream (if used) or one of the products in the filler. If your symptoms don't improve I would certainly consider discussing with your health care provider who injected the filler. Best of luck!

Vascular events like necrosis, embolism, stroke, and blindness tend to occur relatively soon after a procedure has been performed. The ration your cheeks is likely due to a contact dermatitis of sorts. Perhaps the prep that was put on your face, or a new hand moisturizer, or a new cosmetic product that you may be using. Thank you for your question and photos.  Please see your provider immediately. You may have an infection from your injections. Skin necrosis is unlikely since you are a week out from your injections. Best

I see the skin changes on the nose and both cheeks and this does not look like skin necrosis or pending skin necrosis. For further evaluation, I would followup with your physician in person as needed.
