Will my open wound heal with staples loose inside of my incision? 1 week post-op TT. (photo)

These are surgical clips used to control bleeding. By this time, the blood vessels that these clips were used on should have organized with clot and will not bleed any more. These are inert and will not affect healing.

Your picture is of surgical clips that are used to close blood vessels during surgery.  In many types of surgery they are routinely used and left in the surgical site.  I personally like to use suture that stays in the patient.  In terms of healing, best to ask your surgeon and good luck.

Those are metal clips used to ligate small blood vessels going to the abdominal flap.  Yes, they need to be removed and it will not hinder your wound healing.  These are not commonly used in tummy tucks but not unheard of either.  I hope this has been helpful.  Dr. Wilcox
