Will kenalog shot damage my nose? Especially when I want a revision rhinoplasty but have to wait a year like recommended (Photo)

It is not uncommon for steroid to be injected post-operatively to reduce the swelling and prevent scar tissue formation. But it has to be done judiciously so as to avoid over-correction and depressions. 5-Fluorouracil is injected with it or in place of it many times because there is less risk of producing depressions. It is usually injected into the supra tip area where a "pollybeak" may form. However, many times the supra-tip will be higher than the tip because of poor tip support or not enough lowering of the dorsum in this area. So the steroid shots will have no effect. This should be discussed with a revision rhinoplasty specialist to determine your best course of action. You should go on several consultations and look at many before & after photos.Unfortunately, there are several surgeon whom I've discovered "photoshop" their "afters", so even that isn't 100% reliable!!

Depending on whether the supratip area feels like skin or cartilage and your skin thickness, a kenalog injection may be helpful. Hard to tell without seeing you but you can consider it. As you mentioned you're too early in the healing period to consider another surgeon so give it time. 

Since you are only 1 month postop, there is going to be significant swelling in the tip of the nose  which is dependent upon the technique performed and the type of skin. It is very common to undergo steroid shots in the supratip area of the nose where the swelling is located for the first several months after the procedure.  It is very important that the steroid shots or placed below the dermis to prevent an indentation in the skin itself.  Follow-up with your operative surgeon.
