Hi, thank you for sharing your question. It is very rare to have fluid or air in an operative site for this long. While it may not be dangerous, you should discuss it with your plastic surgeon who may want to obtain imaging studies. Fluid adjacent to a textured implant will warrant investigation. You should definitely be examined by your plastic surgeon, because you could be developing a capsular contracture or could have an early rupture.

The new cohesive gel silicone implants are exemplary and are superior to saline implants as they maintain their integrity even when cut. This is why they are often referred to as "gummy bear" implants. I would recommend making an appointment with the board certified plastic surgeon that performed your surgery, as they are familiar with your particular anatomy and implant style. They will be able to determine if the integrity of the implant has been compromised. make medical recommendations and possibly file a warranty claim if the implant is defective. What you describe is probably nothing to be concerned about. The best way to have it evaluated is to see your surgeon or another board certified plastic surgeon. I would not recommend an emergency room visit. The emergency room physician is not likely to be an expert in breast implants. Emergency rooms are expensive and best saved for emergencies.

The best way to evaluate what is going on with your left breast is to do high definition ultrasound imaging of the breasts. That will provide you with information whether fluid is present there (seroma) and, on the basis of radiology findings, your plastic surgeon should make decision how to proceed with management. I am not sure what is going on with your implant, but it does need to be checked out. Do not go to the emergency room which is for emergency of urgent problems. Also, most ER's these days are full of Covid patients which you do not need to be exposed to. Your plastic surgeon can evaluate your breast. If needed he can order mammogram or MRI to help with the evaluation. Hopefully this is a minor issue. Good luck.
