No numbness after CoolSculpting. Is this normal?

Experiences with CoolSculpting vary. While some people may notice some discomfort or numbness, others may not have any kind of reaction to the treatment. Don’t worry, though. Whether or not you feel numbness in the treated area has no bearing on the effectiveness of CoolSculpting. If you’re still concerned, it’s a good idea to speak with your CoolSculpting Technician for further reassurance and insight.

Everybody has a different pain threshold and everyone reacts differently to various treatments. While many patients have some sort of numbness or tingling after CoolSculpting, it is not unusual to feel absolutely nothing at all. Some people can barely even feel the process while it is going on. Whether you have sensations or not has no effect on your ultimate results. So relax, be patient, and expect to see a change in your mons pubis area starting in about 1 month. Your final results should be visible within 3 to 6 months. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to administer any further CoolSculpting sessions you may need or want.

Sometimes even different areas have different reactions, so this is nothing to be concerned about. I would say that most patients do develop some temporary numbness after a CoolSculpting treatment but the presence or absence of numbness is not related to the efficacy of the treatment.  I would discuss your concern with the physician who treated you.  

Numbness MAY be associated with CoolSculpting, but not all patients experience this as a side effect (or any side effects at all, for that matter).  Lack of side effect does not mean that the treatment was not effective.  It takes 1-3 months to see full results.  Good luck!

Although most people do experience numbness after CoolSculpting®, not everyone does, and that's perfectly okay. Each person will respond somewhat differently to CoolSculpting treatments, even if the end result of achieving body contouring through fat reduction is ultimately the same. Most people do but some don't. Everyone is different. What matters is how long the applicator was made to contact the skin, how it was placed, and how many sessions you do. This is what effects the results the most.
