Are faster vs slower Coolsculpting results and metabolism speed related?

There haven’t been any studies that I know of that examine CoolSculpting results in relation to a patient’s metabolic rate. However, if you are referring to the rate at which you burn calories, that is not the process that’s at work with CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting freezes the fat cells and they slowly die within 2 weeks. The results are dependent on how long it takes the body’s inflammatory process to break down the frozen fat cells and eliminate their components. Generally, that takes about 3 months. If you are slow to heal, it may take longer. 
While you are waiting for your results, be sure to take photos (if you haven’t already), so you can compare them to new photos 3 months from now. That will help you to see the change, which is so gradual that some people don’t notice it happening. The more muscle you have compared to fat, the higher the metabolic rate. This means you will burn more calories per hour, even at rest, if you have more muscle related to fat. To slim down all over, be sure to exercise and include strength training. Please contact your board-certified dermatologist who performed the procedure if you don’t notice a difference 90 days after your procedure.

Metabolism doesn't impact the coolsculpting results as long as you are maintaining the body weight. I do agree that some people show early results and non scientific reason would be the density of fat in the area. Give it full 8-12 weeks to see the results. Good luck.

No, your metabolism won't negatively impact how soon you'll get your results. It takes 3-6 months for final results with Coolsculpting. Keep in mind, some people need more than one treatment of Coolsculpting and for best results with Coolsculpting, I recommend a combination approach. The killed/destroyed fat cells have to be processed out of your body and this takes time - up to 4 months for full results.  Be patient, it works!

While your thought of connecting your metabolic rate to the rate at which CoolSculpting works is interesting, this is not how it works and actually there is no connection between the two. CoolSculpting works by freezing and killing unwanted fat cells that gradually become expelled from your body whereas metabolism has to do with the rate at which your body burns calories. You could not be seeing results after your CoolSculpting treatment yet because you need to give it more time, or perhaps you haven't been noticing the changes that are occurring already because they are so gradual. Try taking photos if you have not already and compare them with new ones in about four weeks or so. Also keep in mind that most patients need more than one CoolSculpting session in order to reach their desired results. Good luck!

With Coolsculpting or any other treatments, metabolism may play a small part in it, but the primary way it works is by freezing the fat and so once the fat cells are dead they are eliminating by the body … I would recommend you get re-evaluated to see if you had enough sessions or the appropriate applicator was used for you. One of the issues with Coolsculpting is that the area is not adequately treated or appropriately treated that is a more of an issue then the metabolism of the patient.

Metabolism doesn't really connect to CoolSculpting in the ways you might think. CoolSculpting causes apoptosis, or programmed cell death in the body. The system that actually acts as your body's "clean up crew" to get rid of those dead cells is your lymphatic system. When the crystallized cells die and begin to collapse, the body sends out macrophages, which digest the dead cells and the lipid content therein. Your metabolism, how your body converts calories into energy for body processes, shouldn't really affect you body's response to the dead cells. So the best response to overarching connections between metabolism and CoolSculpting and metabolism across all patients is that we don't really know. If weight loss was an exact science then fewer individuals would struggle, right?!
What I can tell you is that at Imagine Body Sculpting Centers, on average only 10% of patients see visible results at their 30 day follow up appointment, about 55% at their 60 day follow up, and most everyone else sees the full results from their treatment at 90 days. CoolSculpting is a patience game, and I would say that since it does take your body a while to process out the dead fat cells, if you've been recommended at second treatment by your specialist, treat again as soon as possible! Your question is very interesting. It is tempting to say that your metabolism is unrelated to the speed of fat reduction after Coolsculpting. However, the device works by causing apoptosis of fat cells by cooling them to a level intolerable to their metabolism. If the cells die by a drastic reduction in their individual metabolisms, then could a person's metabolic rate affect the rate and intensity of fat cell death? While it makes sense to me, I have not been able to find any studies which look at Coolsculpt efficacy versus any parameter of metabolism. So I just took a long time to tell you, "I don't know". It is probably too early in our clinical experience of Coolsculpting to know. If you were one of my residents, I would point out your question as the genesis of a good research project. Thanks!

Great question.  Metabolism  is important  if you're trying to lose weight and who isn't, I get it.  Coolsculpting  is not designed for you to lose weight but to sculpt your body.  Your coolsculpting results will not be affected if your metabolism is low.  That being said  to improve your overall health and body you can visit your healthcare provider to have your thyroid checked to see if it's working optimally.  The thyroid is the master controller for metabolism.
