Have had surgery to correct bells palsy. Still have an uneven smile.Had bells palsy. Had 50 percent recovery. Got a nerve graft across my face above lip to get movement back on weaker side. One side of my smile shows all my teeth. The other shows only part of my teeth. My smile is not symmetric but thankful for the movement. Is there filler or surgical/non surgical lip lift that would even out my smile? Or filler in cheeks to pull up weaker side? Obviously cannot compromise nerve graft. Any suggestions?
Answer: FILLERS You should start out with 1cc of filler and go from there. You do not want to overdo too much filler in the lips. It also depends on the look you are going for too. You can always add more filler to the lips if needed. Just remember if you are going to do your lips and you do not want to bruise you should not take any aspirins or anything that will thin the blood since brusing can occur.

Answer: Evening Smile with Upper Lip Lift I am happy to hear that you are addressing the effects of bells palsy. While you had a 50 percent recovery, I hope you can take comfort in knowing that there are ways to address your asymmetric smile and in knowing that many people make full recoveries from bells palsy.Consider the Direct Lip Lift. A direct lip lift surgery removes tissue directly from above the upper lip line border. The end result is a slightly raised effect. I suggest you consult a board certified facial plastic surgeon because the board certified credential ensures you receive the highest quality knowledge, treatment, care and skill available. A consultation provides you the opportunity to relay your concerns and desired outcome to the surgeon while the surgeon can assess your health profile and discuss his/her pertinent advice.

Answer: Lip/face Asymmetry So sorry you are going through this. Hard to tell from your photo, but I am quite sure something can be done to improve your situation. Fat transfer to your lips or face is one option. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for sound advice. Good Luck!

Answer: Correcting Asymmetric smile after Bells palsy Fortunately most people with who suffer from Bell's palsy recovery fully. In the small percentage of poeple , artist recovery is marked by homers give muscles, synkinesis and asymmetric smile. The options for optimizing smile in such cases include nerve transfer , muscle transfer , muscle reductions BOTOX injection and highly selective nerve division a symmetric smile is characterized by equal or near equal dental show ( same number of teeth exposed on either side of midline) in your case, the unequal dental show is mainly because of lack of movement of the lower lip on the involved side.treatment for lower lip paralysis varies based on the goals on want to achieve and may invlude1. BOTOX the normal lower lip to achieve symmetry. This is the simplest option. If you like the results from this treatment the effect may be made permanent with surgical trestmrnt2 transfer a dynamic muscle to the paralyzed lower lip. More involved but has the potential of restoring a fuller smile
