Large hump after rhinoplasty (9 years post op) - will this require a full revision? (Photo)

I have a large bump that is highly visible from the right side. I had my primary rhinoplasty 9 years ago. The left side doesn’t look nearly as bad. Is this an easy fix or will I need a full complex revision? How bad does it look?

The bump can be greatly improved if not totally eliminated by a closed procedure I sometimes do as an office procedure with oral sedatives and local anesthesia. It takes a few minutes in my hand with just a couple of days of downtime. However many surgeons would do so this as a formal surgery.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a revision rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, placement of extended spreader grafts to reconstruct the dorsal aesthetic lines, among other maneuvers. Make sure you are going to a surgeon with hundreds of long-term before and after pictures on their website with standardized lighting and standardized backgrounds. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
