One breast bigger than the other after breast reduction? (Photos)

Question

I had a breast reduction August 23,2017. I was told that I had 500g/600g of weight taken out. However I’m getting worried because my left breast is bigger than the right one. It’s gping to be about 2 months now. Is this normal? I’m started to get very worried. I always knew my left breast was bigger before the reduction but I had huge boobs and no one can tell. But this i can definitely tell. Please advise

Thanks for the question. Its normal to have different evolution between breast at the 6 months of surgery. I recommend you to wait a little bit more and to keep in communication with your surgeon. Kind regards

Thank you for your pictures.  I do see the difference in your breast size.  This can happen sometimes after breast reduction.  Allow complete healing and return of the breast tissues back to normal (3-6 months).  If there is still significant asymmetry then a repeat reduction on the larger breast will be needed.

It will take a number of months for you to be able to judge your results and things will continue to change over the coming months. Stay in touch with your PS. Often the larger breast will remain larger after surgery but I would wait until 6-12 months before considering any further surgery.

Thanks for the photos.  You are absolutely right.  There is asymmetry.  I would wait a minimum of three months for all surgical changes to settle down.  A revision, however, seems likely.

After 6 months to 1 year a unilateral revision of the later left breast indicated. In my practice with asymmetry of the breasts I always tell the patient 2 to 3 surgeries might n=be needed to gain symmetry.
