Are persons with autoimmune condtions such as sjogrens still candidates for rhinoplasty? (photo)

In my view, if your Sjogrens disease has been relatively well controlled and you maintain good nasal hygiene and moisture both before and after surgery, you should be fine with undergoing a revision rhinoplasty. I would discuss your health history with your surgeon and internist as well and follow their recommendations about your care. Personally, I have performed both primary and secondary (revision) rhinoplasty on patients with Sjogrens over the years and have not experienced any related problems. With regard to your rhinoplasty, search for an experienced, reputable Facial Plastic Specialist and have a complete consultation and examination about your goals. Good luck.

 A revision rhinoplasty procedure can be accomplished, but is more important to make sure that there are no other health issues regarding your autoimmune status. Best to have clearance by your Sjogren's specialist.
