How can I hide swelling after Rhinoplasty?

Question

I had my surgery a week and a half ago, and have plans with my friends this week. My nose looks the same as it did before the procedure, so I was thinking about covering it with tape to hide it for the night (tape was not advised by my doctor). My friends are excited to see my nose, and I don't want them to be disappointed since it doesn't look any different at the moment. If there are other suggestions to cover, those would be appreciated as well.

It is very normal to have swelling right after your rhinoplasty procedure.I personally do not reccoment taping anything on the nose after the surgery. Ask your doctor what he would reccoment for you so you can heal faster. I find it helpful to use a massage technique on alot of my patients, he might reccoment this for you aswell.best of luck.

The post surgical recovery period requires patience.  While bruising can be concealed with makeup, swelling is a bit more challenging.  Best you follow all post-op instructions provided by your surgeon. If it looks the same, I won’t recommend covering it and calling even more attention to it.  You can explain that it is swollen.  Using contouring makeup would help as well.
