For a question like this, you really need to clarify with your operating surgeon as they will know the particulars of your surgery best. However, in most cases, I tell my patients 6 weeks until they can stress their body with full exercise. Good Luck.
You should be able to swing a golf club safely about 6 weeks after your surgery. But it can often take 3-4 months before you feel completely "normal" with certain activities including sports and heavy exercise. I wouldn't be surprised if you still felt a bit "tight" on your golf trip. That might be really frustrating for you, or the surgery can serve as an excuse if you don't play as well as you are expecting.
Activity after surgery is a question best reserved for your surgeon. There are specifics about your case that other surgeons may not know. On average most tummy tuck patients need about 6-8 weeks before returning to strenuous activities. Best wishes.
This is a question best answered by your surgeon as he/she is aware of what was performed during surgery. In general I would estimate that after approximately 6-8 weeks you could return to golfing.
Thank you for the question. Each patient recovers differently from one another, the truth is that total recovery from a tummy tuck can take from 4-12 weeks and in cases, even longer. Your own body will tell you if you're ready, you will feel comfortable or uncomfortable when doing different activities. Always, always follow your Dr's post op instructions.Dr. Campos
Usually six to eight weeks is needed before the strenuous activity of golf can be comfortably done. Given your time frame, it is a little optimistic but may be alright. However, you will find it to be much more difficult and tiring to play golf than ever before as it really takes months until one feels 100% after a tummy tuck.
It is quite safe to play a complete game of golf six weeks after a none complicated abdominoplasty. However after 3-4 weeks one can return to a golf course to practice gentle chipping/pitching and do unlimited potting. Any physical activities causing fatigue, tenderness or swelling calls for aborting sport activities immediately. Please do not push yourself to test your tolerance or measure your indurance.
I recommend any activity that causes hard contractions of the abdominal muscles be postponed for at least 6 weeks after surgery. It is very unlikely you will cause any damage after that. But many patients would find it uncomfortable to take a full athletic golf swing for 8-12 weeks after a full muscle repair. If you are not having a muscle repair i3-4 weeks would be fine. But why take a risk on ruining such a fun vacation.
Because of my practice location, in a resort area, a very large number of my tummy tuck patients are golfers. We discourage returning to golf or similar activities for at least 2-3 weeks. This allows the abdominal flap to adhere well and reduces the risks of late fluid
In general, I recommend limited physical activity for 6 weeks, depending on how the patient is healing, as everyone is different. This should be discussed with your Plastic Surgeon, as he is responsible for your care.
Hello! Thank you for your question! After any surgical procedure, you should be careful with incisions as well as avoidance of direct UVA and UVB rays in order to lessen the chance for hyperpigmentation of the skin and scars, which can take several months to resolve, if it ever does. Sunblock of...
It usually takes 2-4 days to be able to stand up fully after a tummy tuck. You me bend over at any time after a tummy tuck as this is primarily managed by the muscles in your back.
Thanks for the question. After a tummy tuck surgery you can take a shower after 3 days. I wish you all the best.
