I had a TT In 2015, I loved my result but I had to have a full abdominal hysterectomy in 2018 and the doctor left me with a smile scar that runs in and above my TT scar. Now I have a slight two belly and an overhang that is acting a catch for fat deposits. I wanted to know how /if it can be fixed and if I would have to have a full TT again.

Answer: Revision abdominoplasty First, you should call your gynecologist for not using the pre-existing scar versus making a new one...ludicrous and dangerous to the skin in between the two scars! You may do a revision abdominoplasty and combine the two scars into one, or just do liposuction of the lower abdomen and flatten the bulges.Dr T

Answer: Current problems Your OB/GYN should not have made a second parallel incision. This should never be done in surgery and creates something called a watershed zone. The skin between the two parallel incisions can die creating a large wound that can be difficult to heal. It’s Also not very attractive. Most likely your OB/GYN cut through all the muscle tightening stitches below your belly button and did not replace them correctly and now your lower abdomen bulges and that’s why you have the appearance that you do.The only way to correct this is most likely to redo the entire tummy tuck though it’s possible you will not need muscle tightening from above the bellybutton.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
