Mound after panniculectomy - will swelling go down?

Will the swelling go down and my vajayjay look normal again? It never looked like this before now I have a swollen mound and its lopsided....does this go away??? I'm two weeks out and not liking this look....my boyfriend even asked it that gonna look this way or will it be fixed? I already feel like a side show freak that comment didn't help ....help me

If you are expressing these concerns, you need to have more frequent follow up with your surgeon for assessment and reassurance.  A panniculectomy is often a sizable operation, and it is unrealistic to judge your results at this early post operative stage.  You certainly have swelling, and that tends to settle low on the abdominal wall and within the suprapubic tissue.   But you could also have a hematoma or seroma accounting for some asymmetry.  I would encourage you to see your physician to  discuss your concerns and assess your healing, and try to understand that it will take months for your results to evolve.  Best of luck with your recovery from surgery.
