I have a bmi of 34.7 Diagnosed with CVI PVD Obesity Circulatory system disorder Prediabetic Etc I just had an umbilical hernia repair done 12/18 along with a partial umbilicaloplasty due to getting rashes within my belly button. My pannus affects me with everyday activities. Especially toileting and showering as I cannot see my vaginal area when looking down etc.
Hi, I'm a 31 year old. I've had 3 kids and I had one c section. It's been 7 years since my c section and my stomach gets worse every year. It protrudes and I look pregnant all of the time. I have insurance and was thinking about asking my primary about a referral for a panniculectomy. I heard it's difficult for insurance to cover this procedure. My issues are bloating, over hang, my clothes do not fit and no matter how much I exercise my stomach just sags and bloats and overhangs when I sit.
36 yo Mom of three c-section babies and the first was almost 10 pounds. I am approved for surgery and am ok with a general surgeon plicating my DRAM after my hysterectomy. I have been researching, unsuccessfully, for information on getting my skin done at a later time. What would this entail since I won't need a full TT because my abdomen has already been plicated?
I'm 73 years old & healthy. I weighed 200+ pounds for ~25 years, but after 2 knee replacements and 2 lumbar rhizotomies, I can exercise! Eating less & walking 2 miles/day, I've easily lost a pound a week for a year, from 230 to 180. Goal 130. Prolapsed vagina means possible hysterectomy, through the abdominal wall due to adhesions. I hope for hysterectomy + panniculectomy. If I develop another big pannus, could a 2nd panniculectomy be done, or should I wait until I get down to 130 pounds?
Hello doctors! I've lost over 84 pounds and I've kept it off for 8 years. I have excess skin on my abdomen and I don't have any children I'm in great shape and I'm healthy but in my abdomen area, over the years the excess skin has been causing me major health issues, rashing infections, odor problems. Will health first Medicaid pay for skin removal? Or a panniculectomy? Which doctors will be willing to go through my insurance?
I have lost 85 pounds. I have paramount advantage Medicaid insurance(Ohio)they cover a panniculectomy and an abdominoplasty. While meeting specific criteria of course, for a medical necessity. IF IM approved. I am trying to prepare for all I need to prepare for. Dont I need a Fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty. Any surgeons successful with approval of Medicaid patients getting this done? If they deny abdominoplasty and just approve panniculectomy , is there a Fleur-de-lis panniculectomy procedure?
I'm nearly 74. By age 75, I expect to have lost nearly 100 lbs & kept it off 6 months. Two questions: 1) Assuming I remain healthy and active, could I have a panniculectomy at age 75? 2) I've just been diagnosed with bradycardia (no other heart issues according to my doctor), and will soon wear a Holter monitor for a while. If I need a pacemaker, might that disqualify me for a panniculectomy? I have no other medical issues apart from arthritis and restless legs syndrome.
Im a 44 yo mother 3 (4 after 1 stillborn) with 3 c-sections and about 4 years post gastric bypass surgery after 100lbs weight gain over the years. I just got insurance approval for panniculectomy only to finally remove my apron. I am worried it will look almost as bad because the upper part of my belly is shriveled and chubby also. Scared will still be a shelf basically just with scars now. I cannot afford full tummy tuck unfortunately.
Would this be qualify as medically necessary? My apron is more of a level I and I havent had any significant weightloss. I actually gained 30lbs after last pregnancy and havent been able to lose more than a few lbs without regaining it all. I DO however have this chronic rash/lacerations under the bust and then, in between my labia majora and thighs, it is 10x worse! Both areas get very sweaty and have foul odor. I am constantly getting unexplained UTIs and BV. I have chronic lower back pain 2
I am a 50 year old male and have lost about 140 lbs due to a change of diet and activity. My weight has been stable at 220 lbs for about 6 months. Unfortunately now I have a lot of loose skin in the belly and pelvic area so I am considering surgery to correct it. About 2 years ago I had a pulmonary embolism. No cause was ever determined. There is no family history of clotting issues but I elected to stay on blood thinners as an precautionary measure. Does this automatically disqualify me?
