What's the chances of developing keloids or hypertrophic scars after a thigh lift?

The best indicator of how a patient will scar is how they have scarred in the past so there is a good chance you would develop keloid scarring after the thigh lift as well.  This being said,  your surgeon can do more to help minimize the chance of keloid scarring if her or she knows going into surgery you have a history of keloids.  I recommend that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person and discuss your history and concerns.  Best of luck!

Unfortunately, the fact that you already developed them during your previous surgery means that you’re also at high risk for developing them later on. It’s actually pretty common after a thigh lift.
