Question about removal of subcutaneous lumps during excess leg skin removal.

Question

I experienced massive weight loss. I have about 7 hard pea-to-marble-sized lumps near or in my excess leg skin which is going to be removed this summer. What are they? Should I have a dermatologist remove them before the leg plastic surgery? Or just ask the plastic surgeon to liposuction them out at the same time as the excess skin removal?

Hello,If they are in the skin, they will be removed at the surgical procedure. Just have a derm or plastic surgeon look at it sooner than later to ensure there is nothing abnormal about them. Best of luck!

It’s possible that those lumps are stubborn fat pockets that didn’t dissolve during your weight loss. 
The best thing to do is to consult a reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon and have them assessed first. He’ll give you options on what to do with them.
