I am 28 and the mother of 2 beautiful girls who I tandem nursed for 2 years. I used to be the perfect DD and perky and now nursing has caused them to sag. I am still lactating but am in the weaning process with my 1 year old. I have consulted with my PS regarding lift with aug. He mentioned the mesh internal bra. Is it worth it? What are the pros and cons and is this dumb for me to get a lift if i haven't ruled out having a 3rd child. I want to feel good in my body again and not so selfconscious
Answer: Breast lift and implants with mesh If you may be having another child with breast feeding sometime soon, it would be best to postpone major breast surgery. You need to have stopped breast feeding and allow your breasts to return to their natural state. Otherwise, your post op results may change.Mesh is usually reserved for difficult cases, prior implant problems, capsule, rippling, etc.Further discussion with your plastic surgeon is recommended.

Answer: Breast lift with internal bra mesh Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. It is difficult to comment on your present state as you would have to wait after breast-feeding for an evaluation. In general however, I reserve the use of Internal bra mesh for patients that have significant breast tissue as the implant itself could be supported by using textured silicone implants without any need for a mesh. You would need to have a consultation for precise recommendations.

Answer: Lifting a double D Thanks for your question and the photos. Lift and implant in someone with your breast size is one of the most poorly discussed surgeries we do. Post partum double D's want to go south even with a lift. While a mesh may help adding a foreign material may have other consequences. In the short term I think it would make sense to wait until you are done breastfeeding. After that depending on the weight of the breast after the milk has dried up you may want to consider lift ( or reduction) followed by implant. I have included a blog link i wrote a few years ago discussing this. I hope it is helpful.

Answer: Mesh with lift firstly - agree with the other docs that it is best to complete your family prior to a breast lift/aug otherwise you will probably need a revision after the pregnancysecondly - need to reevaluate 3 months after completion of breast feedingthirdly - I use a mesh (Galaflex these days for non-capsular contracture support) in almost all my lifts with implants. I find that without mesh support the implants cause the breast to sag and with the mesh the implants are held up better. its a bit of a learning curve so most docs are not using mesh routinely. for post capsulectomy support I prefer Strattice

Answer: Is internal mesh worth the extra when having lift/aug? What would happen if I had another child? Ruined? Breastfeeding? Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. The breasts may lose their elasticity and firmness which can be caused by different factors such as pregnancy, massive weight loss, lactation and aging. To reaffirm the breasts and restore the natural look your surgeon can perform a mastopexy or breast lift. A breast lift restores a firmer, perkier, and more aesthetically pleasing shape to sagging breasts. This not only can improve a patient’s appearance by restoring her youthful, feminine proportions, but also help bras and swimsuits fit more comfortably and attractively. By removing excess, stretched out skin, reshaping the breast tissue, and raising the nipple & areola into a more forward position, a cosmetic surgeon can create a more youthful breast contour. Stretched, large areolae can also be reduced during breast lift surgery, creating an overall better proportioned, natural looking breast, Actually the perkiness on a person or another, depends on patients skin and breast tissue, hugs!
