I had a breast lift may of last year with intense scarring. I never had a follow up with the dr. I called to dr office as the nurses told scarring normal and will improve but I have yet to notice it. Any recommendationsI’ve tried topical cream coconut cream and merderma with no change…
Answer: Scarring Good afternoon. Thank you for your question. In my office, we use Silagen scar sheets for all postoperative scars after the 6 week mark. Silagen specifically makes a breast kit for anchor incisions that works to flatten and fade the color of postoperative scars. However, I would certainly reach out to your surgeon that perfomed this procedure to address your dissatisfaction with your scarring as it is well beyond a reasonable aesthetic result. They may be able to offer some sort of revision to improve upon your result. Best of luck.

Answer: For this type of scar it is recommend do to do laser treatments such as Vbeam and Resurfx. Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Scarring You might call your surgeon to see if you can get some Hydroquinone to help treat and lighten the darker areas and keep your breast completely away from any sun exposure or sunbeds.

Answer: Scars Dear pfraire, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from laser treatment. Scar revision is another option. If you are considering treatment, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
