Hello, I’m getting liposuction to my tummy, flanks and back area and having fat transferred to my butt. Since weight loss my shape has changed and my butt has gone completely down. I’m not too concerned regarding loose skin in my tummy as I plan on getting a tuck later when I have kids. My goal is really an hour glass figure and more projection and fuller butt. Do you think I will get good results with my shape and butt? Do I need to add anything else? Thanks
Answer: BBL and TT Dear Caring2199, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL and TT. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: BBL Thank you for your question, Based on your photos you seem like a good candidate for BBL. Liposuction to your flanks will give you an hourglass figure. Fat injection to your buttocks will give you a fuller appearance.

Answer: Do you think I will get good results with my shape and butt? Results in this case will need 3 rounds of surgery. Since your BMI is easily over 34 the amount of liposuction allowed, at least in Florida, is ONLY 4 liters (8.8 pounds). So just for lipo you will need 2 rounds. Plus fat transfer to obtain the wish pics will need to rounds of BBL. Additionally al the excess skin in lower abdomen will need a full TT. So I see 3 surgery rounds.

Answer: Abdominoplasty and BBL Dear Caring, What results of the front of your belly are you looking for??? You have a tremendous amount of excess fat AND SKIN. The skin will NOT contract flat after liposuction alone. You may have issues with wrinkling and some hanging skin (a physical exam would certainly answer this question, but an educated guess is that there will be excess skin post liposuction alone). A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) would cut out the excess skin and tighten the muscles. Trade off is the longer abdominal scar, expense and recovery time. Liposuction of your lower and central back along with a BBL may still be performed. Dr. T

Answer: BBL candidacy Skin laxity contributes negatively to both liposuction and fed transfer results. Skin laxity is your primary issue and I suggest you address the primary problem first which is loose skin. To differentiate skin laxity from subcutaneous fat and to see the impact that skin laxity has on body contour pull the skin and put it under tension above the area of concern and you can see how much impact skin laxity has to body contour. Some plastic surgeons may recommend a BBL prior to a tummy tuck and that may be an option but skin laxity will deter from getting the best results. I suggest having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with the procedure you’re interested in. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
