Dear shellylopez,I understand your concern and your weight gain is probably caused by swelling. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

After Liposuction alone and a BBL (includes liposuction + a fat transfer), the patient actually experiences increased swelling up to 14 days after surgery. This swelling is due to water retention. From 2 weeks after surgery to ~6-8 weeks, your swelling will slowly go down. It is not uncommon to gain 10-15lbs of water weight after surgery. The swelling varies depending on lifestyle (i.e. salt intake, alcohol consumption, physical activity, etc). This is also why the compression garment feels so tight for patients.
The weight gain is from swelling. The weight gain is from swelling. That and the fact that while fat was removed it was also re-inject it into your body. Even in the most aggressive liposuction cases, say when we remove 5 L of that the expected long-term weight loss is still only 10 pounds. Most patients should expect to lose only a couple of pounds which is something we see as a daily fluctuations regardless. Patients often develop swelling of the whole body called third spacing after surgery. Some of this can take weeks to months to go down. Best,Mats Hagstrom,MD

While a Brazilian Butt Lift is generally a safe procedure it has the same risks as liposuction with the added risk of fat necrosis.
It is normal to feel lumps after liposuction for at least 6 months. "Injured" fat tissue has a tendency to heal with lumps and it takes several months for most of them to soften and disappear. However, in same patients these irregularities may stay for longer and may need surgical revisions...
Smoking reduces circulation to the skin and impedes healing. It is best to avoid smoking, including second hand smoke, and cigarette replacements, such as nicotine patches or gum, in the perioperative period. Pre and post-op protocols will vary with the plastic surgeon. You should follow your...
Hi, thank you for your question. If no liposuction of thighs was done then the binder is fine. Each surgeon has his or her own choices of post op garments. As long as the areas that had liposuction have compression to help reduce the swelling and bleeding after surgery, ...
Thank you for your questions. The bottom line is that your plastic surgeon is the only person who can answer that. Every surgeon has his or her own protocol and thoughts on what is best. Some surgeon absolutely suggest massage as a necessity and others do not use it at all.Best of luck!Dallas R....
