Everyone I have asked was given and left with post op faja garment with boards. My surgeon performed a BBL sand 360 lipo but only gave me a binder. Should I switch to a faja? Will it make a difference in my end result?
Answer: Post op garment Hi, thank you for your question. If no liposuction of thighs was done then the binder is fine. Each surgeon has his or her own choices of post op garments. As long as the areas that had liposuction have compression to help reduce the swelling and bleeding after surgery, you are fine with either one. Hope this has helped, and good luck with your recovery.

Answer: What is the difference and benefits between binder vs. faja for post op? Follow your PS's protocol!I provide my patients an adjustable compression garment with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection. The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment not the brand or make. The patients like the support it provides to the back and to the abdomen. The only complaint I have heard is related to the "itchiness" of the fabric which can be remedied by wearing a soft t-shirt under the garment. I ask my patients to wear the compression garment that I provide for 4 to 6 weeks. The patients who tend to have healing issues with larger volume liposuction procedures tend to be the ones who do not wear the compression garments at all, wear them very inconsistently, or do not wear them snugly covering all areas of liposuction.

Answer: What is the difference and benefits between binder vs. faja for post op? Compression garment protocols and adjunctive therapy like faja, binders, foam pads etc. vary from surgeon to surgeon. Post-operative compression garment therapy is very important in order to achieve the best results. However, if a garment does not fit correctly, unevenly distributes pressure, or is too tight... it may affect and hinder ones overall result. It is always best to review and make sure your garment is adequate by reaching out to your surgeon in order to maximize your result.
